Many new buildings, schools and roads have been built here. furthermore, the qing—zang railway leading to lhasa is being built. many shopping centers have been opened, and modern technology like telenetmunications is spreading. the whole city looks prosperous, and our tibetan people take on a new look. every festival, people walk around freely on the new, wide and smooth streets, wearing the beautiful traditional costumes.

Right now, i am looking forward to a festival called shodün which netes in june for eating yoghurt. at this time, all my family and i gather for a picnic together at the norbulinka, a famous garden. in the garden, we sing tibetan songs, dance “guo zhuang” on the grass; eat zanba, drink butter tea and barley beer on the beautiful carpet as well. we enjoy our life. i think that this festival exhibits the open-minded and optimistic character of the tibetan people.

Today, I still keep in touch with her, and she still tells me how she believes in me. sometimes, i’d think back, and wonder how I could handle all those things if it wasn’t for her encouragement and trust. could i be the person i am today? then, it struck me: what we need has always been trust and love of others; because these things inspire us to do our best, and to live our life to its fullest.

在英语学习中,如果采用题海战术,学生做了大量的习题,却并没有获得太大的实质性的收益,这会使学生更加厌恶英语学习。在这种背景下,“减负增效”势在必行。教师要合理地进行英语作业的设计,提高学生对英语的兴趣,让学生全面发展。

一、

初中英语作业布置的现状

1.大量的习题堆积

在初中阶段,不少教师会布置大量的习题给学生,希望让学生能通过大量习题的练习知道针对不同知识点会出怎样的题目并且能够熟练掌握。教师的出发点是好的,可是对于这种题海战术学生心里会十分抵制。学生对复杂难懂的知识点无法掌握,做再多的习题也没有办法提升。学生压力增大,教学矛盾更加突出。

2.教师给全班布置统一的作业

不少英语教师在布置作业时都是统一布置,让学生完成同样的练习,却忽略了学生的英语水平及接受能力。一些基础较好的学生觉得教师布置的习题没有挑战性,没有办法让自己通过习题获得提升,而一些基础较差的学生不能够理解题目的意思,无法下笔。学生基础的不同让学生面对同样的习题时会有不同的反应,教师的习题不能够针对学生的真实水平,让基础好的学生止步不前,基础一般的学生难以进步。

3.W生自觉性不高

教师在布置作业时常常会让学生利用课外时间完成。初中生对英语的兴趣不高,只有少部分学生会按照教师的要求完成英语作业,一些学生会在交作业之前直接抄优等生的作业,过了教师检查这一关就够了。学生的自觉性不高,对于教师布置的课外作业不会认真按照要求完成,胡乱写或是直接抄成为部分学生为了完成任务所采取的方式。

如何在“减负增效”的背景下设计初中英语作业

1.增加作业的趣味性

英语作为要学习的第二语言,初中生在日常生活中接触较少,所以学生在理解英语知识点时会遇到很多困难。教师在作业的设计上要根据学生的英语水平,设置出趣味性的作业,让学生脱离题海,能够快乐地学习英语。教师布置作业是为了让学生更好地理解语法的运用或是明白词汇的意思。对于这两点,教师可以布置“演讲稿”作业,让学生在课余时间利用新学会的词汇与语法写出一篇“英语演讲稿”,主题可以是生活中难忘的事情等。将英语与生活相结合,学生在教师布置的任务中,会增强自己挑战英

语的热情,能够主动地去查阅课本,分析句子中语法的运用。在课堂中让学生对自己写的“演讲稿”进行朗读,与同学一起讨论是否运用到新学的词汇,语法上有什么错误。这样教师与学生在课堂中的互动性增强,也能够增强学生的自信心。

2.注重作业的实践性

教师在进行“减负增效”时,不能够一味让学生进行单纯的背单词、写作业。教师可以通过一些个性化的场景,增强学生学习英语的趣味性。例如可以在学习有关“旅游”的内容时,让学生扮演导游,教师作为游客,让学生用英语为教师介绍不同的景色。教师合理的引导让学生的表演更加得心应手,对新学习的词汇也能够快速地记忆。

一、引言

我国英语教育越来越重视口语表达能力的训练,演讲作为一种锻炼学习者语言和思辨能力、激发强烈学习兴趣的语言形式而一直受到学生的普遍欢迎,“英语演讲是课堂内外训练学习者口语,改善其思辨和创造能力,提高其英语实际运用能力的有效手段”。所以,这种口语训练方式也得到了教育者的大力推广,课前三分钟的演讲是运用于日常课堂教学以锻炼口语表达的最为普及的一种形式。

所谓课前三分钟演讲,具体说来,就是在教师的指导下,每堂英语课上课前由一位学生进行三分钟左右的主题演讲。其优点很多:通过学生自主搜查演讲资料,拓宽了知识面;通过自己写稿和不断地修改作文演讲稿,从而提高了写作能力;通过台上的自我展示,提高了学生的胆量,增强了竞争意识。

二、课前三分钟演讲在教学实践中的问题

笔者在教学实践中发现不少问题:一是学生对时间的把握问题;二是有的学生完全按chinglish的思维来写稿子,或者只能写出几句话的稿子;三是台上学生的稿子有大量新、难词汇,台下听众不知所云。因此,对课前三分钟演讲进行优化和改进,提高其实效性,是我们一线教师急需解决的问题。下面,笔者结合自己的教学实践,谈一些优化的做法。

三、优化课前三分钟演讲的方法

1. 培养学生演讲的技巧和自信心

大部分学生没受过专业的、系统的演讲训练,加之本来就少练口语,贸然让他们上去演讲,是很难让他们有信心讲好的。为了让学生理解演讲技巧,笔者播放了一些演讲比赛和著名的演讲视频给学生看,边看边与学生点评视频中的演讲者是如何体现这些技巧的,并引导学生积极模仿。后来有学生一边讲一边用肢体语言把内容表演出来,后来有一个同学模仿美国总统奥巴马每周的演讲,脱稿大声演讲,语音语调动作模仿得相当到位,博得了大家的掌声。

如何能让学生落落大方、声音清晰洪亮地做好一次演讲呢?单纯的鼓励说教的作用是有限的,所以在轮流演讲的安排中,要首先安排胆子大的、能说的同学率先示范,并且对这些同学要提前做好各方面的指导;同时这些榜样的表现会激发其他同学的热情,并增强自信心。在一学期的进程安排上,好的学生安排在前,弱一点的学生在后。

为了增强他们的信心和自豪感,笔者专门设立了一个“每周优秀演讲剪影”的照片展,把他们一周演讲过程中的精彩演讲瞬间拍下来,再配上赞语,打印出来展示,还有的同学稿子写得好的也贴出来供大家学习欣赏。这样,学生的自信心就更强了,演讲热情也更高涨了,连英语基础差点的同学都摩拳擦掌地认真准备好演讲,急着等待属于自己的舞台的那一天。

2. 培训讲稿写作,提倡演讲主题、选材的多样化

演讲稿写作是活动的第二个关键步骤。如何写好的稿子?首先要指导学生如何分析听众需求来选材,让学生最好围绕一个主题准备,选材为大家所熟知的,如My Family Life、My First Day in Junior Middle School、My Favourite Teacher、My Hobbies等,甚至更好地是根据教学内容选择与课文同步的话题,如八年级下第二单元的话题是Cartoons and Comics,就可以鼓励学生谈他们喜欢的卡通人物,第四单元的话题是Educational exchanges,笔者鼓励一些有游学经历的学生谈谈自己的游学体会。当然,这样的稿子要求很高,适合于一些比较优秀的学生写,对于基础差点的学生就要求低点,能做到文章结构清晰,句子没有语法错误就不错了。反正一定要提倡学生选择自己最熟悉最擅长的话题,无所不谈,畅所欲言。

3. 加强对学生讲稿的润色

演讲的主角是学生,演讲稿自然是学生自己准备的,这有个好处,“英语演讲对输出性技能的培养有个极其有利的条件:即为说和写提供了直接而强烈的动机――任何人都希望在公众面前有好的表现。因此,在公众演讲的驱动力鞭策下,学生会不断调动一切主观能动性,把说了的再说,写了的再写,不断润色和调整,以达到最佳状态。”但初中生英语词汇量比较有限,很多表达都受限于自己的词汇量,很难像中文一样畅所欲言,容易出现上述的chinglish的现象,更何况有些学生的英语基础很差,要写出一篇英语演讲稿实在是很头疼的事。这时,教师就不能袖手旁观,必须要加强对学生演讲稿的写作指导和润色了。

笔者一般要求他们提前两三天交文章给自己过目,经过与学生共同商讨修改之后才让他们在台上展示。对于内容过多,要求他们进行适当的删减,突出重点。还有些学生的文章,语法不通,错漏百出。有的文章明显是中译英式的,教他们一些规范的英文表达。如下面学生的习作(部分):

What makes a successful student?

“Today my topic is what makes a successful student. A successful student not only means get good marks, but also means try his best to overcome the problems and make progress. To be a successful student, you should get well with everyone around you. It’s important for us to help others. You should also show respect to your teachers. Have a good habit of learning is very important, too. Be strict with yourself and be hard-working in your study. If we are weak in some subjects, never give up and remember to work harder at it.Proverb says : A minute does farm work, a minute harvest!...”

内容写得不错,挺符合学生的实际的演讲稿。但问题也不少(上述划线部分),首先人称不一致,人称用了you就不应该用us,否则让听众听起来有点乱;其次结构不够清晰,可以加上firstly,secondly等这些序数词,让每一点有一个过渡和分界,听众听起来也清晰很多;再者是语法错误较多,如mean后用doing表示意味着做什么,和某人相处好的词组是get on well with sb等;还有就是最后一句谚语明显是汉语里的“一分耕耘一分收获”直接翻译过来的,非常中式化的英文,明显的chinglish,事实上英文里也有与这个汉语谚语对应的英文谚语。经过指导后该生修改后的习作是(部分):

“Good morning,ladies and gentlemen. Today my topic is what makes a successful student. Everyone wants to be a successful student. So do I. But, how to be a successful student?

In my opinion,a successful student not only means getting good marks, but also means trying his best to overcome the problems and make progress. Firstly, to be a successful student, you should get on well with everyone around you. It’s important for you to help others when they are in trouble. You should also show respect to your teachers. Secondly, having a good habit of learning is very important, too. Be strict with yourself and be hard-working in your study. If you are weak in some subjects, never give up and remember to work harder at it. A proverb says that no pains no gains...”

这样一改就流畅很多,而且条理清晰了很多,台下的同学也容易听得懂,这样的指导才真正有益于学生写作的提高,对于基础差的学生能自信地上台演讲也尤为重要。

四、总结

经过在实践中不断的尝试与探索,基本解决了上述提到的问题,这一活动也得到了学生、家长、学校的认可和大力支持,台上台下的学生参与热情高涨,英语学习的兴趣也更为浓厚了,养成了在英语课上大胆开口的好习惯(甚至在讲课文内容的时候也有很多学生踊跃发言了),思维能力和口语表达都得到了很大的提高。千里之行始于足下,九层之台始于垒土,笔者相信长此以往的坚持,并在实践中不断尝试优化和完善,英语课前三分钟演讲成效一定会更加明显,英语课定能让学生满怀期待。

1.创设和谐情境,激发阅读兴趣

阅读情境就是教师运用直观的教学方式再现课本知识所表征的实际事物及其背景。和谐的阅读情境能使学生积极投入到课堂教学氛围中,激发学生阅读兴趣,鼓励学生自主探究英语知识,让课堂“活”起来。创设良好的英语教学情境,能让学生变得积极乐观,收到事半功倍的阅读效果。

1.1.质疑导入,激发兴趣

导入是初中英语新课学习的引子,起着酝酿情绪、集中学生注意力的作用。教师提问能使学生产生强烈的求知欲望,点燃学生的英语思维的火种。“学起于思,思源于疑。”从而提出问题或新的见解导入新课,能激发学生自主寻找答案,主动探究知识。在阅读过程中遇到问题,教师要鼓励学生敢疑、善疑、会疑,养成敢于质疑的习惯。如:教学《仁爱版英语》第一册Unit3 Topic2一课时,教师要创设质疑情境,让学生主动掌握有关食物的名词以及吃和喝的词汇。课前让学生准备自己最喜欢吃的或喝的东西,把实物带到学校来。学生兴趣浓厚,积极准备。让学生或直接带实物来,这样使学生一开始就把实物或图片与英语词汇直接联系起来,加深印象,提高记忆效果,而且通过看物生情,能激发学生求知的欲望。课前简单地质疑进行热身, “Hello, boys and girls, how are you today? What class are you in? What do you like? What color is it?” 学生积极回答,课堂气氛活跃,提高了学习新课的热情。教师质疑:“What is your favorite food ?学生踊跃回答,积极心高涨。出示图片,让学生从具体的图片中猜测词义,这就省去了老师用母语来解释词的意义。学生边出示图片边回答: chicken, hamburgers ,dumplings, eggs, noodles, bread等词汇。这样在质疑中就把词的音、形、义全过程教学一次性完成了,这样的阅读导入既生动形象,又情趣盎然,提高英语阅读教学的课堂效率。

1.2.鼓励演讲,张扬个性

初中英语阅读作为语言技能的重要组成部分和语言输入的主要环节之一,在英语教学中占有重要地位。在课前5分钟,要求学生自己准备英语演讲稿,每堂课前都针对本课内容设计演讲稿,这样既能提高学生的口语水平,又能锻炼学生的写作能力。让学生学习与别人交流的技巧,对事物多问为什么,以增强英语的思维能力。调动学生的主动性和创造性,鼓励学生大胆说英语,做快乐的“English learner”。教师在讲完被动语态知识以后,可以轱辘学生拿自己喜欢的物品到前面即兴“一分钟演讲”。“This is a cup. It’s made of glass. It’s used for drinking water. I think it is made in Yichang.” 同学们能用英语流利地表达自己的意思,积极性高涨,跃跃欲试。讲的好的同学很有自豪感,不会讲的同学也暗暗较劲。教师对回答得好的学生,用“Very good!” (很好!),“Excellent!”(好极了!)来评价;对表现一般的,用“Good”(好),“well done”(不错)来表扬。学生们在浓厚的兴趣中进入了新课的阅读,学生能积极主动地参与课堂教学,为整个阅读教学的成功奠定一个良好的基础,从而有效地完成了教学任务。

2.掌握阅读方法,培养阅读能力

初中英语阅读能力是一项语言综合运用的能力,主要包括理解程度和阅读速度。教师要教给学生阅读的方法和技巧,充分利用现有的材料对学生进行有效的听、说、读、写的训练,以细节阅读为核心,合理分析课文的性质和结构特征。

2.1模拟购物,学以致用

阅读是凭借已知去获取未知。在阅读过程中根据课文类型、内容和阅读目的的不同,选择灵活的阅读方法,它是语言学习的有机组成部分。教师要把英语阅读与写作教学作为一个整体来考虑,把阅读与写作教学进行优化组合,在阅读中培养写作能力,学以致用。购物是初中生特别喜欢的话题,怎样用英语来表达呢,学生还不会运用。教师在教室创设一个学生熟悉的购物超市,用真实感来吸引学生,鼓励学生用英语购物,然后写下来。如:教学Grade 8 Unit 6 Topic1 Section B时,要求学生自己掌握购物用语以及如何表达自己对商品的看法,会用How do you like …?,What do you think of …?组句子。模拟以下购物情境:

让学生主动为母亲买生日礼物,引出新句型,个别学生不会回答,但也理解意思。然后阅读短文,自己再写出购物体会。阅读是写作的前提和基础,把写作教学与阅读教学融为一体,培养了学生的阅读习惯,让学生其身临其境,学以致用。

2.2.积累词汇,有效阅读

初中英语阅读教学,要根据课文内容灵活选择、恰当运用阅读方法,采用自主、合作、探究的学习方式,唤醒学生的阅读潜能,激活封存的记忆,开启幽闭的心智,加强课外阅读,扩大知识面。要注意词汇的积累,词汇的积累是基本功,在阅读中扮演着相当重要的角色。鼓励学生平时识记与收集教科书中的基础词汇,注意文中的关键词,把一些重要的词汇,优美的句子摘抄下来,尽量的记忆。如and、in、besides、for example等词,预示着前后内容或相似或互为补充,可适当提高阅读速度。学生长期积累就会增加词汇量,减少了阅读障碍,提高了阅读速度。

总之,初中英语阅读教学方法多种多样,切忌阅读方法古板、单调。教师要创设良好的教学情境,培养学生的阅读能力,扩大词汇量,丰富语言知识,提高语言的运用能力。充分挖掘生活中的英语资源,丰富英语意象,体现英语教育的本色性。
