英语复合句变简单句的几种方法

在初中英语中，将复合句变为简单句有一定的模式，现举几例，供同学们参考。

一、用too...to或enough to将含有so...that结构的复合句变为简单句。如：

1.He is so young that he can’t go to school.

He is too young to go to school.

或He is not old enough to go to school.

2.He has so much money that he can buy a car.

He has enough money to buy a car.

二、把及物动词引导的由陈述句变成的宾语从句变为“及物动词+动词不定式（短语）”结构，由此将复合句变为简单句。如：

1.He hopes that he will be back soon.

He hopes to be back soon.

2.I want that I will speak to you.

I want to speak to you.

三、把疑问代词或疑问副词引导的宾语从句变为“疑问词+动词不定式（短语）”结构，由此将复合句变为简单句。如：

1.Tell me where we’ll go.

Tell me where to go.

2.Can you tell me how I can get to the zoo?

Can you tell me how to get to the zoo?

四、把if引导的否定的条件状语从句变为“without +名词/代词/动名词”结构，由此将复合句变为简单句。如：

1.We can’t live if there is no air.

We can’t live without air.

2.Hecouldn’tfinishtheworkifyou didn’t help him.

He couldn’t finish the work without your help.

五、把感官动词引导的宾语从句变为“感官动词+ sb. do / doing sth.”结构，由此将复合句变为简单句。如：

1.He saw some children were playing football on the road.

He saw some children playing football on the road.

2.I often heard that she sang in the next room.

I often heard her sing in the next room.

六、把连词引导的时间状语从句变为表示时间的介词短语，由此将复合句变为简单句。如：

1.Please come here after school is over.

Please come here after school.

2.I have taught at this school since it opened in 1991.

I have taught at this school since 1991 / fourteen years ago.

或I have taught at this school for fourteen years.

七、把带有“as +形容词/副词+ as sb. can / could” 结构的状语从句变为“as +形容词/副词+ as possible”结构，由此将复合句变为简单句。如：

1.I will return it as soon as I can.

I will return it as soon as possible.

2.She got a medicine box as quickly as she could.

She got a medicine box as quickly as possible.
