精彩纷呈的夏季时尚

Recently, I have been fortunate enough to do quite a bit of traveling. In the past five or so weeks, I have spent quite a bit of time (and a whole lot of money) in Hong Kong, Tokyo and Sydney. I find these three cities are always able to inspire me. All three cities are young, trendy and vibrant.Everyday can be spent idly, gazing at the locals clad in diverse and wonderful clothes. Not only are the inhabitants of these cities highly clued on to the latest trends from around the world, they also have a knack of adapting these trends to suit their own personal style. It is interesting to see how the same style can be interpreted and worn completely differently depending on which country you are in.

Whilst in Australia, which was enjoying some hot summer weather, I saw many fashion trends that (hopefully) will make their way to Chinese shores. The most dominant trend would have to be the addition of sequins and gems to everyday basics. From flip-flops and sleeveless tops, it seemed every shop was selling clothes embellished with either shiny embroidery or sequins. Try a sexy, satin, embroidered camisole or a sequined sleeveless top worn with jeans, or an embroidered skirt paired with a simple white t-shirt.

The good news about this trend is that you don't need to spend a fortune. Indeed, you don't even need to go out and buy new clothes, just DIY with some you already own. For an eye-catching pair of shoes, all you'll need is an old pair of shoes, some super glue, fake jewels and imagination. The same goes for basic tops. Buy some sequins and sew them around the neckline of a sleeveless top or sew an imaginative design on the front. Alternatively, purchase a pretty, bejeweled, embroidered design and attach it to your clothes.

One of the national pastimes of Australia is going to the beach. Indeed, on Australia Day (January 26th) it is a ritual for a large percentage of the Australian population to head down to their local beach to enjoy the sand and surf. So of course, arriving in Australia mid summer, I was confronted by the dilemma of what to wear on the beach.

Fortunately for me, there were plenty of options for those like me who are not inclined to bare a lot of flesh in public. In fact, I had never seen such a variety to choose from. Strapless one pieces, boy-leg pants, tankinis (tank tops), and surfer shorts to name just a few. Color-wise, white suits with simple black prints and bold Hawaiian prints were widespread. Girls at the beach were all mix and matching their swimwear tops and bottoms. All colors and all patterns were worn together, making a day at the beach ①a feast for the eyes.

Another trend that I saw in all three places I visited was the bohemian look. Bohemian dress may be anachronistic, distressed, frayed, fringed, ethnic or folksy, but it is and will always be stylish and cool. The bohemian look is epitomized by Janis Joplin, who during her heyday ②set herself apart by going braless, wearing beads, velvet, fur, feather boas, her trademark bangles, crochet vest and leaving her hair au natural.

Joplin, the late high priestess of rock, has also recently been the muse to both Hollywood stars and designers. Paisley, plumage, fringing and crochet all appeared on Galliano, Prada and Cavalli catwalks, just to name a few. And stars such as Selina Millar, Kate Moss and Drew Barrymore have also been seen around town and on the red carpet looking their prettiest in bohemian attire.

The key to this look is to appear natural and carefree, yet elegant. One way to wear this look is with a long, paisley or ethnic print skirt teamed with a simple top. A good investment is a skirt with an elastic waistband. They can not only be worn as a skirt, but also as a strapless dress, best accessorized with a thick, weaved, leather belt slung loosely around the waist to avoid looking frumpy. Perhaps the easiest way to wear this look is by teaming jeans with an Indian inspired or floral print top. Then it is up to you to accessorize with beads, feathers, fur, hats or anything else that takes your fancy. Just remember, with bohemian chic, anything goes.

Brooches were also de rigueur in all three cities. I am particularly enamored of brooches. I have fond memories of a time in my childhood of rummaging through my grandma's jewelry box, and being transfixed by seemingly enormous clusters of bright, shiny gems in a variety of shapes. Many an afternoon at my grandma's house was spent in childish delight pinning brooch after brooch onto my dress. But, alas, as I got older, opportunities to wear these family heirlooms were scarce, and these pieces were relegated to the back of the jewelry box. Imagine my delight when pages of magazines and the television screen are aglitter with constellations of paste and real gemstones pinned to everything from after-five frocks to casual singlet tops. Whatever shape your brooch takes, it should boast vintage appeal. ③Pin down this trend with two or more brooches on your lapel or bodice.

最近，我真是万分幸运，可以尽情出游。在过去大约5个星期的时间里，我在香港、东京和悉尼呆了很长时间（并花了不少钱）。我发现这三个城市总是能够激发我的灵感。这三个城市全是年轻、时尚而又充满生气的。每一天都可以悠闲地度过，把时间用在注视着那些身穿风格各异、美轮美奂的服饰的本地人身上。这些城市的居民不但非常了解全球的最新潮流，而且有办法将这些潮流加以改造，使其与他们特有的个人风格相适应。因你所在国家的不同而注视着同一种风格是如何被完全不同地加以诠释和搭配，是一件有趣的事情。

在澳大利亚的时候，那里的气候正值炎夏，我注意到了很多时尚潮流,（我希望）它们将会登陆中国。而最盛行的潮流肯定就是，在日常着装上点缀些金属片和宝石。从夹趾凉鞋到无袖上衣，似乎每家店都在卖着那些配有闪亮的刺绣或金属片的服饰。尝试一下用性感丝滑的刺绣贴身女背心或是镶有金属片的无袖上衣与牛仔裤搭配，或者用简洁的白T恤来配绣花裙子。

这种潮流的好处是你无需花钱。真的，你甚至不用出门去买新衣服，而只是自己动手对你已有的一些衣服来进行加工。要做一双惹眼的鞋，你所需要的就是一双旧鞋、一些强力胶、假珠宝和想象力。对于普通上衣亦是如此。买一些金属片，将其缝在无袖上衣的领口处，或是在衣服前襟缝上一个想象丰富的图案。或者，买一个美观、有珠饰的刺绣图案，将它贴附到你的衣服上。

澳大利亚的国民消遣方式之一便是去海滩。没错，在澳大利亚国庆（1月26日）那一天，大多数澳大利亚人会按惯例前往当地海滩享受沙滩和冲浪。所以，在仲夏时节来到澳大利亚，我当然就左右为难了，不知道在海滩上穿什么好。

我是幸运的，对于像我这样不愿意在公众场合穿着十分暴露的人来说，是有许多选择的。实际上，我从未看到过如此多样的选择。无吊带的连身泳衣、紧身短裤、分体泳衣和冲浪短裤，不胜枚举。颜色方面，配有简单的黑色印染或大胆的夏威夷印染的白色泳装很流行。海滩上的所有女孩都将其泳衣的上下身进行了混合搭配。所有颜色和各种图案都被搭配在了一起，使得海滩上的一日时光成为尽饱眼福的时刻。

在我去过的这三个地方中，我注意到的另一种潮流就是波希米亚风。波希米亚服饰可以是不合时令的、刻意仿古的、有破损处的、有流苏的、有民族色彩的，或者是有民间风情的，但无论现在还是将来它都永远是时髦入时的。詹妮斯・乔普林是波希米亚风的代表人物，她在其事业黄金期之时是特立独行的――不穿胸罩、佩带着珠子、天鹅绒、毛皮、羽毛围巾、她特有的手镯、粗针背心，而且不打理头发。

已故的“摇滚女主祭”――乔普林，最近也一直是好莱坞明星和设计师的缪斯女神（注：在希腊神话当中，缪斯是给人以灵感的文艺女神）。佩兹利涡旋纹花呢、鸟类羽毛、流苏边，和粗针编织等不胜枚举的材质全都出现在了加利亚诺、普拉达和卡沃利等品牌的T型台上。而且也可以看到赛琳娜・米勒、凯特・莫丝和德鲁・巴里摩尔等明星在都市和红地毯上穿着波希米亚服装，美丽至极。

饰针在这3个城市中也是不可或缺的装饰物。我特别迷恋饰针。我有一段美好的回忆，记得童年时翻寻我祖母的珠宝盒，被里面看似硕大的一串串形状各异、闪闪发亮的珠宝惊得目瞪口呆。许多个下午，我都呆在祖母的房间里，充满童趣地将饰针一个接一个地别在我的长裙上。但是，唉，随着我的成长，就难得有机会来佩带这些传家宝了，这些东西就被放回了珠宝盒里。当在杂志上和电视屏幕中看到，从晚礼服到便装衬衣的所有服饰上都别有大量闪闪发光的真假宝石时，可想而知我有多高兴。不论你用的饰针是什么形状，它都应该会闪耀着20到40年代的风情。用两个或更多的饰针别在你的衣领或紧身胸衣上来演绎这个潮流吧。

And here are a couple of quick tips to keep you looking up to date:

Get rid of those skinny belts. Thick, brown leather belts are back! Worn with a pair of jeans, or with a bohemian inspired dress, the right belt can definitely up your hip factor instantly.

Knee length flip skirts are fitted, but flared at the bottom. They are very sexy and very flattering.

Cropped jackets and cardigans. They fit well, make your legs look longer and accentuate your waist.Pin a couple of brooches on them, to really add some style to your outfit.

Silk sashes in various colors can be used as belts to glam up jeans or casual pants, or scarves or headbands for those bad hair days. They are also handy for some added glamour when heading out after work. Try purple, turquoise or emerald green, the trendy shades for summer.
