Study on the Relationship Between Economic and Social Development

with SEM： Based on the Facts of Jinan

Abstract： Based on the statistics data of Jinan from 2001 to 2013， this paper applies structural equation model to examining the relationship between economic development and social development of Jinan， and measures the mutual impacts of four latent variables of economic development and four latent variables of social development. The results show that residents life quality is positively related to population quality and economic level and that population quality is positively related to economic level. Whats more， residents life quality influences social stability and social stability is the inherent requirement of life quality. In the end， ecoenvironmental quality is negatively related to the rate of economic growth and economic material consumption， which reveals the fact that the previous development is unsustainable.
