如何保住你的工作

Unless you’re a long-lost Hilton sister, you’re probably worried about the economy (and staying employed). This advice from Leonard Lauder, who has managed thousands of people as chairman of the Estee Lauder Companies, can help keep you off the firing line.

Focus on Your Job, Not the Clock

“If the hours are till 5:00, don’t be on the elevator at five o’clock every day,” says Lauder. “That sends a signal that you don’t like your work―or have enough of it. ” And let the boss’s schedule guide yours: “If you always arrive after her and then leave before her at night, don’t blame your lack of progress on the economy,” he points out.

Be one Step Ahead of Your Boss

These days, says Lauder, it’s important to find ways of making your supervisor see that you’re indispensable. “Bragging can be a turnoff,” he notes. “But there are subtle ways to get noticed. If the boss asks you to do something and you say, ‘I’ve already done that,’ you send a good signal.”

Try Some Good Old Charm

It’s easy to forget when you’re super-busy or stressed. “Say please and thank you,” urges Lauder. “Have good humor. Bring laughter rather than complaints. The more difficult the times, the more you have to smile. You can’t afford to be grouchy.”

兰黛说,目前重要的是让你的主管知道你是不可缺少的人。“吹牛只会让人厌烦,”他解释道,“但是可以通过聪明的办法让他了解。如果老板要求你做某件事,而你说,‘我已经完成了’,那么你就为自己创造了一个好形象。”

保持传统的优良品质

当你非常忙或者压力很大的时候,就会很容易忘记说“请”和“谢谢”。兰黛说,“要有幽默感。欢笑多于抱怨。越是困难的时候就越要微笑。发牢骚无济于事。”
