研究称每周运动可有效降低患抑郁症风险

据新加坡《联合早报》17日报道,英国研究人员发现,每周运动三次,可把患抑郁症的风险降低16%,而且每周运动的次数越多,患病的风险就越低。伦敦大学学院儿童保健研究所佩雷拉所领导的研究小组对11,135个在1958年出生的人进行长年追踪,直到他们50岁为止。

研究人员让参与调查者填写问卷,以评估他们在23岁、33岁、42岁和50岁时的心理压力状况。受调查者也被问到运动的次数。

结果发现,那些增加每周运动次数的人,所通报的抑郁症状会比较少;那些有较多抑郁症状的人则较少运动,这种情况在年轻人当中尤其明显。

他们发现,每周每增加一次体能活动,就能把患抑郁症的风险降低6%。同时,20多岁至40多岁且不运动的人,只要改变生活习惯,每周运动三次,就可把抑郁风险降低大约16%。

佩雷拉说:“假定两者之间具有因果关系,闲暇时的体能活动可保护人们减少患抑郁症。”

抑郁症是最常见的精神疾病之一。据估计全球的抑郁症患者达3.5亿。抑郁症的治疗方法通常是服药或精神疗法,或两者兼施。不过,许多患者根本无法康复,而且会一再病发。

伦敦大学学院流行病学和公共卫生教授鲍威尔说,新发现显示,运动可做为治疗抑郁症的一种手段,同时也能促进体能健康。

According to the report of Union Morning Paper of Singapore on 17th, British researchers found that, having exercises for three times every week could reduce the risk of having depression by 16 percent, and the more exercises people take, the lower the risk of being ill is. A study group of the Studying Center of Child Health of the University of London who is in the charge of Perera has followed up 11135 persons who were born in 1958 for many years until they are were 50 years old.

The researchers asked the interviewees to fill in questionnaires to evaluate their mental pressure status at the age of 23, 33, 42 and 50. The interviewees were also asked about how many times they have exercises every week.

The results show that people who have more exercises every week have fewer symptoms of depression to write; those who have more symptoms of depression are people who have less exercise, which is most obvious among young people.

They found that if they have exercise once more every week, the risk of having depression will be reduced by 6 percent. Meanwhile, for people aged between 20 to 40 who do not have exercises, if they change their habit and exercise for three times every week, the risk of depression will be reduce by 16 percent.

Perera said: ”Supposing that there is a casual relationship between them, taking exercise in spare time may protect people from having depression.

Depression is one of the most common mental diseases. The estimated number of depression sufferers of the world is 0.35 billion. The common treatment to depression is taking medicine or psychotherapy, or both of them. However, many patients cannot have rehabilitation and have relapses.

Powell, Profession of Epidemiology and Public Health of University College London said, a new research showed that taking exercise could be a method of treating depression, which could also promote physical well-being.
