Abstract： This article pointed out that with the increasing acceleration of urbanization ， large crowds of people move into cities andthe scale of cities is enlarged.The living space of the urban residents is compressed as well as the problems of environment are gradually standing out. How to effectivelycarry on the city greeningbecomes one of the burning problems needed to be resolved in the development of modern cities. Vertical green wall， an emerging greening method， has been proved in practicethat vertical green wall plays a very important role in urban greening construction and has broad application prospects. At the same time ， some questions are encountered in bing with the characteristics of Chinese cities，destroying the old and establishing the new andcultivating ideas are the key points of the popularization and application of the vertical green wall.
