小总统的精神喊话

I think we all need a pep talk[激励的话].

The world needs you to stop being boring. Yeah， YOU！ Boring is easy. Everybody can be boring but you’re “gooder注1” than that. Life is not a game， people. Life isn’t a cereal[麦片] either. Well， it is a cereal. And if life is a game， aren’t we all on the same team？ I mean really right？ I’m on your team， be on my team. This is life， people. You got air coming through your nose. You got a heart beat. That means it’s time to do something.

A poem： “Two roads diverged[分岔] in the woods， and I took the road less traveled.” AND IT HURT， MAN！ Really bad： rocks， thorns[荆棘]， and glass. My pants broke. Wow！ Not cool， Robert Frost注2！ But what if there really were two paths？ I wanna be on that leads to awesome！ So like that dude， Journey注3 said： “Don’t stop believing， unless your dream is stupid.” Then you should get a better dream.

I think that’s how it goes.

Get a better dream， and keep going， keep going， keep going and keep going. What if Michael Jordan注4 had quit？ Well he did quit. No， he retired. Yeah， he retired. But before that， in high school， what if he quit when he didn’t make the team？ He would’ve never made Space Jam注5？ And I love Space Jam.

What would be your Space Jam？ What would you create to make the world awesome？ Nothing if you keep sitting there. That’s why I’m talking to you today. This is your time. This is my time. This is OUR time. We can make everyday better for each other. If we’re all on the same team， let’s start acting like it.

We’ve got work to do.

We can cry about it or we can dance about it. We were made to be AWESOME. Let’s get out there. I don’t know everything. I’m just a kid. But I do know this： It’s everybody’s duty to give the world a reason to dance. So get to it.

You’ve just been pep-talked. Create something that will make the world awesome.

我想我们都需要来次精神喊话。

这个世界需要你，别再无精打采了。没错，就是你！要做个无趣的人很容易，谁都可以当个无趣的人。但你不仅如此。人生可不是一场游戏啊，各位。人生也不是一碗麦片。嗯，也许是碗麦片吧。不过，如果人生真的是一场游戏，那我们是不是都在同一队呢？我是说，真的是这样吗？你我是守望相助的关系。这就是人生啊，各位。你的鼻子在呼吸空气，你的心脏在跳动，这就意味着是时候做点什么了。

一首诗曾说道：“在树林中遇到了两条岔路，而我选择了人迹罕至的那条。”结果，糟透了，老兄！那条路实在糟糕，有石头、荆棘，还有玻璃呢。我的裤子都破了，哇！一点都不酷，罗伯特・弗罗斯特！可是，如果真有两条岔路在我面前，我想踏上通往精彩人生的那条！就像旅行乐队的哥们说过：“别放弃信念，除非你的梦想很愚蠢。”这时，你该找个更好的梦想。

我觉得这就是人生。

找个更好的梦想，然后向着它奋勇前进，前进，前进，前进进。如果迈克尔・乔丹放弃打球了，那会怎么样？嗯，他确实不打了。不，是他退役了。是的，他退役了。但在那之前，在他高中的时候，他没能入选校队，要是他就此不打球呢？他不就永远没法出演《空中大灌篮》了吗？我爱死《空中大灌篮》了。

那你人生中的“空中大灌篮”会是什么呢？你会创造些什么，让世界精彩起来呢？如果你只是一味地坐着，那一切都是空的。这就是为什么我今天要跟你说这些话。是时候大显你的身手，是时候我来露两手，是时候我们大干一场了。我们可以让彼此的每一天更加精彩。如果我们都坐在同一条船上，那就开始同舟共济吧。

我们要做的事还多着呢。

我们可以怨天尤人，又或者快乐起舞。人，生来不凡。让我们走出世界吧。我不是什么都懂的，我只是个小孩子。不过，我真的懂得：每个人都有责任让世界起舞。所以快行动起来吧。

你刚才被“精神喊话”了。做些事情，让世界变得更精彩吧。

注1：为了强调，小总统故意把better说成gooder，就像good加-er后缀变比较级。

注2：罗伯特・弗罗斯特（1874―1963），20世纪美国著名诗人，被誉为美国的桂冠诗人，主要以农村生活为题材。小总统引用的诗句出自他的著名诗歌《未选择的路》（The Road Not Taken）。

注3：旅行乐队，成立于20世纪80年代，是美国史上最受欢迎的摇滚乐队之一，代表作为《Don’t Stop Believin’》。

注4：迈克尔・乔丹（1963―），又称“空中飞人”，美国著名篮球运动员，1993年首次退役，后来几经复出和退役，2000年开始加入球坛的管理层。

注5：《空中大灌篮》，一部混合动画和真人演出的电影，于1996年上映，由兔八哥（Bugs Bunny）和迈克尔・乔丹领衔主演。
