教你“提建议”

“提建议的句式及应答”是初中英语学习中的重点之一｡要想让对方接受我们的建议,得讲究提建议的方法,方法不恰当,再好的建议也不会被采纳｡下面我们就谈谈如何用英语提建议｡

1. 委婉建议: Shall we...?

当建议对方与自己共同做某事并希望对方给予肯定的答复时,应当用比较委婉且含有商量意味的语气｡英语中,常用“Shall we+动词原形?”｡例如:

Shall we meet outside the bookshop gate? 我们在书店门口见面好吗?

注意,此句虽然是一般疑问句,但不可以简单地用“Yes, we shall.”或“No, we shall not.”作答,而应根据情况选用“OK./All right./Good idea.”等作肯定回答,而用“No, let’s...”等作否定回答｡例如:

―Shall we start at eight o’clock? 我们八点出发,行吗?

―Good idea./No, let’s make it a little earlier. 好主意｡/我们还是早点出发吧｡

2. 直接建议: Let’s...

直截了当地向某人提出建议时,常用“Let’s + 动词原形”结构,作答时多用“OK./All right.”或“Sorry, but...”等｡例如:

―Let’s get on the bus. 咱们上车吧｡

―All right./OK. 好的｡

3. 征求性建议: What about...?

想让对方对自己的建议说出看法或者要向对方提出建议､征求意见或询问情况时,常用“What about...?”,意为“……怎么样?”｡其中的 about 为介词,其后须接名词､代词或动词的-ing形式,也可用“How about + 名词或动词的-ing形式”结构｡作答时多用“Good idea./That’s OK./All right./Yes, please.”等｡例如:

―What about another cup of tea? 再来一杯茶好吗?

―Yes, please. 好的｡

―What about/How about going shopping? 去买东西怎么样?

―Good idea. 好主意｡

4. 责备性建议: Why not...?

不同意对方的意见或做法时,常用“Why not + 动词原形?”或“Why don’t you + 动词原形?”提出自己的看法,作答时常用“Good idea./Good./No problem./Sure.”等表示赞同｡例如:

―Why not go and ask your teacher? 你为何不去问问你的老师呢?

―Good idea. 好主意｡

Why not come with us?(=Why don’t you come with us?) 你为什么不和我们一起去呢?

5. 劝告性建议: You’d better (not)...

当对方考虑欠周到时,常用“You’d better(not)...”提出自己的建议, had better 为固定搭配,相当于一个情态动词,后接动词原形｡构成否定式时,直接在 better 后面加 not即可｡作答时,常用“I will./Sorry, I won’t.”｡例如:

―You’d better stay at home and look after your sister. 你最好呆在家里照看你妹妹｡

―OK. I will. 好的,我会的｡

6. 请求性建议: Would you like...?

“Would you like + 名词或动词不定式?”意为“你想要 ……吗?”,含有请求或希望对方给予肯定回答的意味,其答语常用“Yes, please./Yes, I’d love/like to./No, thanks.”等｡例如:

―Would you like to come to my birthday party? 你愿意参加我的生日聚会吗?

―Yes, I’d love to, but I have a lot of homework to do. 是的,我愿意参加,但我有很多作业要做｡

此外,“Would/Will you please...?”也是一种委婉而礼貌地提建议的方法,多用在口语中｡例如:

Would you please open the window? It’s too hot. 能打开窗户吗?太热了｡

同意别人的建议时,还常用“Of course./Yes, I think so./With pleasure./I agree with you.”等作答｡不同意时可用“No, I don’t think so./No, I’m busy./I’m afraid not./I don’t agree.”等作答｡
