mind及其常见句型

mind是英语中常见的一个词，它的用法常成为考试中的热门考点，那么我们一起来了解一下mind 的用法吧。

1.作名词时，意思是“头脑；见解；记忆；理智”。例如：

An idea flashed across his mind.

他脑子里闪过一个念头。

He lost his mind.

他失去理智了。

2. 作动词，用在肯定句中意思是“当心、照应”； 用在否定句、疑问句和条件句中，意思是“介意、在乎”。例如：

Mind the traffics when you cross the road.

I don’t mind how hot it is.

我不在乎有多么热。

Do you mind if I smoke here?

3.含mind的常用短语。

change one’s mind表示“改变主意，改变想法”。例如：

1.“Would you mind doing...？”句型用来客气地提出请求，是表示请求对方给予许可或请求别人做某事的常用语，意思是“你介意做某事吗？”或“请你做某事好吗？”。例如：

Would you mind looking after my pet cat while I’m away?

我不在时，你介不介意照看我的宠物猫？

Would you mind turning off the computer?

请你关上电脑好吗？

2. “Would you mind not doing...? ”是请求别人别做某事的用语，意思是“请你不要做某事好吗？”。例如：

Would you mind not jumping the queue？

请你不要插队好吗？

Would you mind not singing in class?

请你们上课不要唱歌好吗？

3.“Would you mind doing...？”句型中，如果要指出动名词的逻辑主语，常用形容词性物主代词表示，非正式文体中也可使用人称代词的宾格形式来表示。例如：

回答这种问句时要注意，不论用yes 还是no，都是针对mind （介意）的：如果“不同意；反对”别人做某事，也就是表示介意，不能满足对方的请求，答语要用肯定形式，并多用“I am sorry...”或“I’m afraid...”等来缓和语气；如果“同意；不反对”别人做某事，也就是表示不介意，可以满足对方的请求，答语要用否定形式，如“No，not at all”或“Certainly / Of course not”或“No, go ahead”等。例如：

―Would you mind my drinking a little?

―No, not at all. (Yes, you’d better not.)

――我喝点酒你介意吗？

――不，一点也不。（是的，你最好别喝。）

―Would you mind making some room for me?

―Of course not.

――你介意给我腾些地方吗？

――当然不介意。

注意：“Would you mind doing...?”句型中的would也可用do代替，但语气较生硬，不如用would客气。

“Do you mind +if 从句” 也用来表示请求对方的许可。但是，用do开头时表示说话人比较直率，而且if从句的谓语动词通常用一般现在时态。例如：

Do you mind if I call you earlier?

我早一点儿打电话给你好吗？
