Unit 8How was your school trip?

1. 上星期天孩子们在公园里玩得很开心。

误: The children had great time in the park last Sunday.

正: The children had a great time in the park last Sunday.

析: have a great time意为“玩得很开心”,其中a不能漏掉。例如:

During the holidays we had a great time. 在假期里我们玩得很开心。

2. 星期六晚上我们总是很晚才睡。

误: We always sleep late on Saturday night.

正: We always go to bed late on Saturday night.

析: go to bed late意为“睡得迟”。而sleep late的意思不是“(晚上)睡得迟”,而是“(早上)睡懒觉”。例如:

He was so tired that he slept late into the next morning. 他累得一直睡到第二天上午。

3. 在上一次篮球比赛中他们赢了我们。

误: They won us in the last basketball match.

正: They beat us in the last basketball match.

析: beat与win都可以作“赢”、“胜”解。“赢某人”是beat somebody。 例如:

We weren’t sure we could beat them. 我们不能确信我们能赢他们。

“赢比赛或一场战斗”是win a game(or a battle)。 例如:

I was very glad when the boys won the relay race. 男同学赢得了接力赛跑,我非常高兴。

4. 我想再买一辆自行车。

误: I want to buy a bike again.

正: I want to buy another bike.

析: 动词与again连用时,有“重新”、“再”的意思,即在原有“做”某事的基础上,“再做”同一件事。例如: I have read this book twice. I want to read it again. 这本书我已经读过两遍了。我想再读一遍。而该例中的“再”是“另外的”意思。 another后面接名词时,意指“另外的”事和东西,与原来的无关。试比较:

Sing us another song. 给我们再唱一首歌。

Sing us the song again, please. 请把这首歌再给我们唱一遍吧。

5. 他们谁也不知道要干什么。

误: No one of them knew what to do.

正: None of them knew what to do.

析: no one与nobody同义,但只能用来指人,具有泛指的意义,没有固定的范围,所以后面不能跟of短语。例如:

No one likes a person with bad manners. 没有人喜欢一个不讲礼貌的人。

none可用来指人、动物、事物,有固定的范围,后面可以接of短语。例如:

None of us attended the meeting yesterday. 昨天我们谁也没有去参加会议。

I liked none of the books. 这些书我全不喜欢。

6. ―你在跟谁讲话?

―没跟谁讲话。

误: ―Who are you speaking to?

―None.

正: ―Who are you speaking to?

―No one.

析: no one通常用来对who开头的特殊疑问句作简略回答。例如:

―Who is in the classroom? 谁在教室里?

―No one. 没有人。

而none则通常用来对how many或how much引起的疑问句作简略回答。例如:

―How many books do you have? 你有多少本书?

―None. 一本也没有。

7. 晚饭后我们去散步好吗?

误: Shall we go for walk after supper?

正: Shall we go for a walk after supper?

析: “去散步”应译为go for a walk, 类似的短语还有: go for a ride去骑马; go for a swim去游泳。切记这类短语中的a不能漏掉。

8. 我休息日过得没意思。

误: I hadn’t fun on my day off.

正: I didn’t have fun on my day off.

析: have fun意为“玩得高兴”,其中have不作“有”解,变成疑问句和否定句时需借助助动词do/does/did。 例如:

Did you have fun in the park last Sunday? 上星期天你们在公园玩得高兴吗?

9. 本月末我们将去参观长城。

误: We’ll go to the Great Wall in the end of this month.

正: We’ll go to the Great Wall at the end of this month.

析: 要表示“在……末”的时间点时,应该用“at the end of ...”。 例如:

At the end of 1998, he came back from Japan. 在1998年末,他从日本回来了。

10. 去年这个时候这儿雨水很多。

误: We had a lot of rains here this time last year.

正: We had a lot of rain here this time last year.

析: rain表示“雨”、“雨水”时,是不可数名词。例如:

Could you tell us if you have plenty of rain? 请告诉我们你们那里雨水充足吗?

指“雨”的类型或指特定场合下的“雨”时, rain是可数名词,可用复数形式,前面也可加不定冠词a。 例如:

Oh, what a heavy rain! 好大的雨啊!
