理想情况下，CDMA通信系统中使用的扩频序列集应具有如下相关特性：1.每个扩频序列的自相关函数应该是一个冲激函数，即除零时延外，其值应处处为零；2.每对扩频序列的互相关函数值应该处处为零。遗憾的是，已经证明具有这种理想相关特性的序列集是不存在的。近年来低/零相关区扩频序列的研究引起了广泛关注，它针对准同步CDMA系统的特性，即系统的同步误差控制在一定范围之内，如一个或几个码片周期，要求扩频序列在同步误差范围内具有（接近）理想相关特性。

本论文围绕低/零相关区理论，对低/零相关区扩频序列的理论界、低相关区扩频序列设计、具有低/零相关区的二维信号设计、整环上正交序列集设计、LA序列设计等五个方面内容进行了深入研究。

针对一些相关函数（包括非周期相关函数、周期相关函数、周期奇相关函数）具有低/零相关区特性的序列，在Welch内积界的基础上统一建立了其理论界。研究表明，经过适当修订，所有已知的一般序列的理论界都可应用于低/零相关区序列，只要将相关范围限定在低/零相关区内。

得到了一种由GMW序列复合生成多相低相关区序列集的方法，在低相关区内，其相关函数的边峰值为-1；更确切地说，在整个定义域内除个别点外，相关函数的值都等于-1。通过选择相应的m-序列对的抽样关系，得到了一大类渐近最佳多相低相关区序列集。借用另一不同的构造思想，本文还得到了一类实现简单的渐近最佳二元低相关序列集。

基于m-序列的自相关特性，本文利用Galois环上元素的迹函数生成了整环上的正交序列集，并利用两个移位寄存器实现该序列集，还提出了一个快速的两级解扩算法，对抽样信号实施快速广义Hadamard变化，极大地减小了运算量。

建立了LA序列的数学模型，推导了LA序列长度的理论下界，提出了几个构造方法。结果表明，其中以基于进化算法的构造方法为最佳，所生成的LA序列远优于已知结果，大部分新LA序列达到了长度的理论下界。

本文所设计的低/零相关区序列可用于准同步CDMA扩频通信系统，降低甚至消除共信道干扰，提高系统容量。

IdealcodesusedforCDMAsystemshouldhaveimpulsive-likeauto-correlationfunctioandzerocro-correlationfunctio.Unfortunately,ithasbeenshownthatsuchidealcodesdonotexist.Recently,theresearchonreadingsequenceswithloworzerocorrelationzoneisbeingpaidmoreandmoreattention.Thesesequenceshaveidealorverylowcorrealtionfunctiowithinaecificzone,whichcanbeusedinquasi-synchronousCDMAsystem,wherethesynchronizationamonguserscanbecontrolledwithinpermiibletimedifference.

Inthisthesis,fivesequencedesigntopicsrelatedtothetheoryofloworzerocorrelationzone(LCZorZCZ)areinvestigated,i.e.,lowerboundsonthecorrelationofthereadingsequencesetwithloworzerocorrelationzone,sequencedesignwithlowcorrelationzone,binaryarraydesignwithloworzerocorrelationzone,orthogonalreadingsequencedesignover,andtheLAsequencedesign.

Basedontheboundsonierproduct,wehaveestablishedseveralboundsonvariouscorrelatioofLCZ(ZCZ)sequences,includeaperiodiccorrelationbound,periodiccorrelationboundandoddcorrelationbound.Ourinvestigatonshowsthat,allknownlowerboundsonvariouscorrelatioforordinarysequences,derivedfromboundsonierproduct,canbeextendedtoLCZorZCZsequencesbylimitingthecorrelationoperationrangewithintheloworzerocorrelationzone.

AnewclaofpolyphaseLCZsequencesoverGF(p),basedonGMWsequences,iscotructed.Thesequenceshavethepropertythat,inthelowcorrelationzone,theout-of-phaseautocorrelationandcro-correlationvaluesareallequalto-1.Furthermore,thecorrelationvaluesarealmostallequalto-1withinthewholetimedurationexceptforafewvalues.Byselectinganaropriatesamplerforapairofm-sequences,alargeclaofasymptoticallyoptimalpolyphaseLCZsequenceset,canbeobtained.Inaddition,byborrowingadifferentstrategy,anotherclaofasymptoticallyoptimalbinaryLCZsequencessetispresented.

By generalizingtheconceptofZCZandLCZfromone-dimeiontotwo-dimeion,aclaofbinaryarrayswithZCZproperty,basedonaclaofmutuallyorthogonaltwo-dimeionalcomplementarycodes,ispresented.Besides,aclaofbinaryarrayswithlowcorrelationzoneisalsoobtained.Thecorrlationfunctioofthesearraysarezeroorverylowwithinarectanglearoundtheorigin.Itinotedthat,similarconceptandcotructioncabeeasilyextendedtothree-dimeionalorhigherdimeionalcodewithloworzerocorrelation.

Basedontheautocorrelationpropertyofm-sequenceoverGF(p),amethodforcotructingorthogonalsequencesetsoverGaloisringisderivedbymakinguseofthetracefunction.Itcanbesimplyrealizedbymeaoftwoshiftregisters.Inordertodereadthesignalefficientlyatthereceiver,afastalgorithmforimplementingthebankofcorrelatorsisalsoderivedtodecreaseloaddramatically,byperforminggeneralizedfastHadamardtraformoftheblockofpermutedsamples.

AstrictmathematicaldefinitionforLAsequencesisestablished,andthelowerboundsonthelengthofLAsequenceisderived.BasedonthedefinitionofLAsequences,severalalgorithmsarepresented,andthecotructionbasedonevolutionaryalgorithmisthebestItisshownthattheresultobtainedaremuchbetterthantheknownresults.Moreover,thelengthofthemostnewLAcodesreachesthelowerbounds.

TheLCZorZCZsequencespresentedinthisthesisaresuitableforalicatioquasi-synchronousCDMAsystemtoreduceoreliminatetheco-chaelinterference,and,therefore,toincreasethesystemcapacitysignificantly.
