意外发现

在前一天邂逅了金发公主露茜的亨利，第二天，一心想着佳人有约，早早就来到了咖啡馆。不过故事的发展似乎有些变数……

Lucy: What was that?

Henry: I was petting my walrus all morning and thinking of you the whole time.

Lucy: Ok, pervert. I think that you should leave.

Henry: What? I was joking because of what we talked about yesterday.

Lucy: Yesterday? I've never even met you. Nick, I need help!

Nick: Coming Lucy.

The Storekeeper: Nick, put that down, I'll handle it. You (to Ross), follow me.

Henry: Wait a ...What's going on? (to Lucy) I was kidding around with you! (To the lady) What's happening here? Is she crazy or something?

The Storekeeper: Lucy is a very special person. Very different from other people.

Henry: Ok.

The Storekeeper: About a year ago, Lucy was in a terrible car accident. She and her father went up North Shore to get a pineapple... Her father broke some ribs, but Lucy suffered a serious head injury. She lost her short-term memory.

Henry: So, she can't remember anything?

The Storekeeper: No, no no, she has all of her long-term memory. That's a different part of the brain. Her whole life, up to the night before the accident, she remembers. She just can't retain any new information. It's like her slate gets wiped clean every night while she sleeps 1.

Henry: Hole on. This sounds like something I would tell a psycho girl, so she'd stop calling me. Am I the psycho girl 2?

The Storekeeper: I wish I was making this up! She has no memory that she ever met you.

Henry: What about the pineapple-picking thing?

The Storekeeper: She says that every day, because each morning she wakes up thinking it's October 13th of last year. She comes for breakfast because that's what she did on Sunday, and October 13th was a Sunday. She has no idea it's more that a year later.

Henry: She reads the newspaper.

The Storekeeper: It's a special paper her father puts on their porch every night. It's from the day of her accident. He got hundreds of them printed out. Lucy does the same thing every day.

店主：大约一年前，露茜遇上了一场严重的车祸。她和她爸爸去北岸去取菠萝。她爸爸断了几根骨头，但露茜的头部受了重伤。她失去了短期的记忆力。

亨利：你的意思是说，她什么都不记得了吗？

店主：不，不。长期的记忆她是有的。那是她大脑中的另外一个部分。也就是说，车祸发生前所有的生活，她是记得的。只是她的大脑中完全不能保存新的信息。就像是在她睡觉时有把刷子，每天都把新发生的事情刷得干干净净的一样。

亨利：等等。你这套说辞我在想方设法摆脱那些对我死缠烂打的姑娘的时候也用过。你是不是把我当成傻子，涮我玩儿呢？

店主：我也希望这是我在编故事，她没有遇到你的那段记忆。

亨利：那取菠萝的事情又是怎么回事？

店主：她每天都这么说，因为她每天醒来都以为是去年10月13号。她来我这里吃早餐，因为出车祸以前她每周日都会来这里吃早餐。她完全不知道都已经过了一年多了……

亨利：可是她读报啊！

店主：这是她爸爸专门做的，每天晚上会放在她家门前。报纸是她出车祸那天的版本，她爸爸印刷了上百份。每天露茜都在重复做同样的事情。

这就难怪这一次亨利和露茜再次相遇碰了一鼻子灰了。有个韩国影片名为《记忆中的橡皮擦》，露茜车祸后得的怪病就好像脑海中有个橡皮擦，每天夜晚记忆便被抹去，重新归零，留不下任何痕迹。这么说来，亨利和露茜的那次咖啡馆邂逅，之于露茜而言，就好像从未发生过。美好的故事似乎才刚刚开始，可是忽然遇上了这样的突发状况，该怎样继续才好呢？

每天重新认识你

露茜的可爱和俏皮让亨利很是念念不忘，思来想去，他决定无论如何不要让这段故事就这样戛然而止。为了俘获露茜的芳心，亨利每天都要绞尽脑汁，设计不同的邂逅方案。爱情三十六计，招招都要试过才能知道，哪套方案能打动我们的女主角。

Waiter：Lucy probably didn't wanna talk to you anyway.

Henry: What does that mean?

Waiter：This ain't a disco. She doesn't want guys hitting on her while she's having her breakfast.

Henry: She does it. It's Henry Ross.

Waiter：Who that?

Henry: Who that? Me that. I bet you 20 bucks I can get her to have breakfast with me again.

Waiter：You're on.

Henry:I love it.

其实，受苦的又何止亨利一个，露茜的爸爸和哥哥经受的考验可严峻多了。因为露茜的记忆一直停留在去年老爸过生日的那天，为了不让露茜遭受失忆的打击，父子俩每天都要陪露茜一起收看那场已经看过无数次的球赛，看看了无数遍的那盘露茜送给父亲的生日礼物――《第六感生死恋》。为了把露茜彩绘墙壁作为庆祝老爸生日的保留曲目，父子俩必须每天趁她出门时重新刷成白色，再反复看着她用七彩画笔把墙壁布置一新。家中的用品要归为原样，心情的指针要调整回初始值，每一天的状态也要保持原有的温度，因为所有的一切都要重新来过。

一天辛辛苦苦培养起来的感情，第二天起来又得从认识开始，对谁来说都不是件容易事。但亨利可不是个容易被击败的人……

Henry: Excuse me, Lucy Whitmore?

Lucy: Yeah.

Henry: Have a delivery for you.

Lucy: A delivery for me?

Henry: Yes.

Lucy: (looking at the flowers) Oh, they're beautiful. Who are they from?

Henry: That I can't tell you. It's a secret admirer. He also wants you to have this (a video tape).

Lucy's dad: Who's your friend, Lucy?

Lucy: Oh well, I mean, I don't know. We just met, but look. I have a secret admirer.

亨利送来的录像带里记录了自己和露茜的相识过程和两人昔日的生活点滴，同时也透露了露茜车祸的消息。虽说揭开真相对露茜多少有些残酷，但若是没有录像带的帮助，露茜可能永远不能了解亨利对自己的一片苦心……

人家都说爱情有魔力，有时可以化腐朽为神奇，所以好莱坞的童话现如今不需要类似露茜“最终恢复记忆”的完美结局，也一样可以精彩。有亨利的爱心录像带时时提醒，露茜就是想将他遗忘都难……
