Guangxi People's Publishing House:Let Vietnamese Readers Appreciate Chinese Roma

Among the 44 kinds of books that were exported to Vietnam by Guangxi People's Publishing House， 41 kinds of which belonged to the urban romantic novels， which showed that Vietnamese readers prefer works with such theme.

Guangxi People's Publishing House became close to Vietnam， since the signing of copyright agreement for Vietnamese version of Lover of the Beihai， written by domestic romantic novelist Chihiro Chihiro， with Vietnam Hongde Press attending to China-ASEAN Publishing Exposition last year. In early 2011， in order to adapt to the new situation of publishing， Guangxi People's Publishing House progressively realized the transformation from traditional publishing alone to the mode of copyright transfer， and boldly probed into system and mechanism. The year of 2011 was the first year that the export of copyright transfer exceeded the import of copyright， transfer and before 2011， it always suffered a trade deficit of copyright transfer. Until September 2012， the export to Vietnam had reached to a total of 44 kinds of books， and it reached up to 25 in 2011.

Both China and Vietnam Expect Win-Win of both of Economic and Social Benefits

After the interview with Zhang Fan， editor of copyright transfer department of Guangxi People's Publishing House， we know that the cooperation and exchange with Vietnamese presses have been further enhanced since 2010. After reading several works by Chihiro Chihiro， the person-in-charge of the Vietnam Wenyue Culture Communication Co.， Ltd. put forward the intention to import a series of works by Chihiro Chihiro， and also showed much interest in Chihiro Chihiro’s new unpublished works. But for Guangxi People's Publishing House before 2007， its copyrights were mainly exported to only China Taiwan and Hong Kong. After being familiar with the real situation of Vietnam book market， Guangxi People's Publishing House decided to sign an agreement of copyright transfer of some books by Chihiro Chihiro （for example， Love and Bloom， Love Blooms When You Turn， If You May Love in This Way， etc.） to Vietnam publishing companies， though the amount was only symbolic U$D2，000. Particularly in the book of Lover of the Beihai， it rhythmically switched from picture to picture as a movie lens： Beihai Silver Beach， Weizhou Island， Seaview Avenue， Shangri-La Hotel， Nanning Diwang Mansion， Wuxiang Square， International Exhibition and Conference Centre， etc. In this regard， Peng Qingguo， editor-in-chief of Guangxi People's Publishing House， said that he expected this book could show more Chinese and Vietnamese readers about northern gulf cities， especially the economic development， natural landscape and cultural charm of Nanning， Beihai， Fangchenggang， etc. Therefore， both Chinese and Vietnamese presses are particularly looking forward to the economic and social benefits of this novel.

Vietnamese Readers Favor the Chinese Urban Romantic Novels

It is known that among the 44 kinds of books that were exported to Vietnam， 41 kinds of them were urban romantic novels， which showed that Vietnamese readers prefer works with such theme. In response to this phenomenon， Ko Chun Yue， editor of Vietnam Hongde Press under Vietnam Time Publishing Group， analyzed and pointed out that the reason for this phenomenon was that Chinese and Vietnamese have similar cultural background， and even some Vietnamese are familiar with China's Zhuang language， and as neighbor country made it is natural for them to resonate in thoughts and feelings， so it was understandable that Vietnamese readers loved Chinese romance novels. Based on this common ground， Guangxi People's Publishing House， from the beginning of this year， recommended a series of romance novels to Vietnamese publishers， and afterwards received good news from Vietnamese publishers soon.

In previous years， compared to the frequent exchanges of book copyright business with South Korea， cooperation of copyright transfer of Guangxi People's Publishing House with other Southeast Asian nations seemed to be a kind of weak， as a result， that book business transaction between China and Vietnam was was not much. Because of the common cultural background and geographical conditions， Vietnam is a copyright buyers market worthy of much attention， especially for romantic novels. Vietnam publishers are much interested in two kinds of novels， one of which is romance novel about urban love and marriage （for example， The Weekend of a Divorced Woman， Do You Dare to Marry）， and most of the content describes the change in the attitude and thinking of the life of urban men and women under the situation of today's marriage and divorce. The popularity of love and marriage theme in Vietnam indicates that the confusion of marriage and loneliness of being single have no nationality， and family problems after marriage are also common in Vietnam. The other one is the novel with pure love with happy ending （for example， Love Capchino， Owe You to Say I Love You）， whose plot twists and turns as well as tear-jerking， but often the result turns to the bright side， and hero and heroine usually get together at last. This kind of theme is also popular.
