The Roles of Vocational Music Education in Quality Training for Students

Abstract. With the continuous development of education, as one of the branches, vocational music education has become increasingly important. The schools cultivate a batch after batch of music talents. They make immeasurable contribution to our society and play a very important role in the field of basic music education. The purpose of quality education is to improve students' quality and develop their potential, so that their development of morality, intelligence, physique and aesthetic could be promoted comprehensively. The use of music education to quality education in vocational colleges can not only cultivate the students’ proper value of aesthetic, also can play an extremely important role in the quality education.

Introductions

Students in vocational colleges have only two-year professional study in school and then accept the choice of the employer into internships stage. Those students with professional skills, certain expertise and comprehensive ability are most welcomed by the enterprises. Our Department of Tourism has andance team. The members are the most successful graduation candidates. This successful experience prompts that music education has a great help to improve the capacity and competitiveness of students in vocational colleges.

1. Status of Vocational musical education

Majors' professional training in music education in vocational colleges is to promote a concrete manifestation of the quality education. For a long time, teachers have emphasized on theory and mechanical training, which students can only passively rote. Obsolete teaching content and methods make it difficult for students in their real jobs to independently undertake the teaching tasks under the new situation, and difficult to adapt quickly to the needs of practical work. Today, for example, the national education system is carrying out a quality education. Many rich and colorful arts groups, choirs, dance teams and folk music bands are emerged, which require school music teachers to guide and regulate. Therefore, a music teacher, who only specializes in one part, obviously cannot meet the requirements of primary and secondary schools and early childhood music education. In fact, today, the students in music classrooms and kindergartens are the main force of art education in the future basic education. They bear the important task of the communicators. The era requires that they must have a high level of professionalism, including integrated and comprehensive professional skills and high human qualities. That is to say, they must know how to song and dance, how to play instrumental music. And they also must have professional ethics, psychological quality and excellent cultural heritage ". In view of this, we need to cultivate and train the all-round quality of the music education students in vocational colleges for primary and secondary schools, and kindergartens. That is not only a promotion of the examination-oriented education to the quality education, but also a music education reform trial in higher vocational colleges. Actually playing a functional role in training teachers with a clear target is in line with the development of society and the needs of the times.

2.The necessity of implementation of vocational music education

2.1 Music education is an effective way to enhance the cultural quality

The goal of quality education in vocational colleges is to clear souls and cultivate students’ complete personality and noble sentiments. During the realization of this goal, the school music education will be a “stage” in the journey of students’ life. Campus plays an important role in improving the culture quality of a growing student, who is going to step into society and assume his own responsibility in the near future.

2.2 The role and significance of music education

Combined with the current situation of vocational school, music education, as an educational activity to cultivate noble sentiments, has a function of spreading knowledge of the music art, training music skills, guiding music appreciation and creation. It is an indispensable content in cultivating college students’ spirit. It can also strengthen ideological and moral education of the students. Good music works will reflect the spirit of the times, and inspire people to make progress. Music and dance epic "The East is Red", as if a mirror of history, depicts the history with a song. Thus people receive the patriotism education under an unconsciously influence. Excellent folk songs sing the motherland’s great rivers and mountains; reflect the local customs and inspire people’s sincere feelings to love the motherland and their hometowns.

2.3 Music education can cultivate sentiments of students

Music is a kind of beauty of art. It can make people happy and exciting; allow students to learn in a happy mood, and benefit for their mental health. Concentration and rich imagination are needed in singing, playing and music appreciation. Therefore, music education is also an effective way to cultivate the students' imagination and creativity.

3. Music education and students' humanistic qualities

3.1 Music education cultivates the concept of students’ humanistic qualities

After more than a decade of appeal and implementing of the quality education, a fundamental shift in the concept of education has finally happened. Under the heavy and difficult historic humanistic quality education, we can at least clearly recognize that: school education is only a part of the humanistic quality education, fortunately, an extremely important part. Now, it should be the time to fully understand the implementation of humanistic quality education at a higher level. As a professional teacher education, it is an indispensable obligation of one generation to cultivate the students’ humanistic quality. Therefore, instructor of each course, whether it is a professional skills course, a professional theory course or a cultural basis of common course, should have an awareness of cultivating students’ humanistic quality and penetrate it to each link of teaching. He should also make efforts to seek the integration with other related disciplines in their own subject teaching, so as to enable students to form rich cultural qualities and professional qualities.

3.2 Impact on students' ideological and moral quality education

The healthy growth of the students needs a strong spiritual power and atmosphere of public opinion. And ideological and moral quality education for students in vocational colleges is the heart and soul of the quality of education. It provides a powerful ideological guarantee and education environment for the overall development and personnel training of students, it trains students a strong sense of social responsibility and guide students to form a good outlook, values and morality, so as to ensure the legitimacy of the skills development. The ideological and moral qualities contain the correct political orientation, lofty ambitions, healthy moral character and good thinking sentiment. Through the language of music, music education make people get aesthetic pleasure in the emotional experience, which calls "emotionally moving". Through rational analysis, ideological and moral education makes people accept certain theories and ideas, which calls "understanding with reason". The combination of emotion and reason is the point of integration of music education and ideological and moral education. In the implementation of music education, teachers can not only give rational directions to the emotions and feelings of the music and make the true, the good and the beauty more harmonious and unified; also can make use of the ideological and moral education penetrate in music education with analysis of singing and libretto.

3.3 Vocational music education aims to develop students' aesthetic emotion

The fundamental purpose of vocational music education is to develop students’ aesthetic emotion and promote their overall development. This aesthetic quality is one of the major parts of the all-round development and the overall quality of the people. Music education is aesthetic education. The core of the aesthetic education is the cultivation of aesthetic emotion. As the emotion art of music, it shapes music images with various musical languages, such as beat, rhythm, melody, timbre, speed, intensity and sound, tone, tonality, etc. It expresses a variety of real emotions, such as delight, anger, sadness and excitement, in the songwriters’ hearts. In the college music teaching, emotional aesthetic of music education can be actually realized by linking students’ feeling, understanding, imagination with musical emotion and combining manifestations of music with music content. Students' own balance and coordination of the various factors and their harmonious development of the personality can be promoted only by firmly grasping the fundamental aesthetic education and adequately training the students’ abilities to feel, to understand, to perform, to appreciate and to create music.

4.The relationship between music education and

quality education

4.1 Essence of quality education

Quality education aims to tap students’ own potential and comprehensively improve their basic quality. Implementation of quality education is a great systemic social education, a complex systemic social engineering and a huge task undertaken by government, society, family and schools. Therefore, it is a strong guarantee to achieve this huge task. Quality education is not a scientific fact, but an ever-evolving and changeable value category. The essence of transition from the examination-oriented education to quality education is to transit conflicts between traditional educational values and modern ones to their integration, transit disorder to order, and ultimately formulate a stable education system of values. Quality education is based on the person's whole life beyond their natural qualities and constructs the individual and the main spirit, so as to contribute to the education of individual self-improvement and development. Its value orientation is to make students learn to be, to know, to do, to exchanges, and eventually to become a "complete" man.

4.2 The relationship between music education and quality education

4.2.1 Correct understanding of the relationship between music education and quality education

To properly understand the relationship between music education and quality education must figure out what is quality education, and what is music education? Quality education is an ideology or a concept but not specific knowledge of some disciplines, however, its connotation is broad, multi-faceted and profound. The basic connotation is that education opens for all rather than a small number of people. One important ideology and concept of quality education is to focus on the raise of knowledge and ability of all the people. Education should emphasis on all-round development rather than a single and one-sided part. The other one is to pay attention to people’s ability to learn and train in many aspects with a variety of knowledge. Education should focus on the combination of knowledge and ability.

4.2.2 Links between music education and quality education

Broad sense of quality is a concept in pedagogy referring to the internal and relatively stable physical and psychological characteristics with a long-term role which is acquired from basis of innate physiology and postnatal training and environmental impact, commonly calling it literacy. It mainly includes the person's moral qualities, intellectual qualities, physical fitness, aesthetic quality and labor skills qualities. Quality education consists of internal quality and external quality. The former refers mainly to the people’s views and significance of the world, the environment and the life, including world outlook, outlook on life, values, morality, etc. That is the views of treating humans and things, which can also become people’s mentality. The later refers to a person’s ability, behavior and achievements. Firstly, as a basic discipline, music education is a basic quality education. It reflects the people's thinking, emotion and social life by teaching this auditory art, so as to raise the students’ interests in music and develop their feelings of music beauty, performance capacity and preliminary appreciation and creative abilities, and to teach them how to understand, experience and create life in a certain sense, so as to promote their healthy character, personality and overall development. In a word, its purpose is to train people. That is to say, it aims to cultivate the students' all-round development ability. At this point, the fundamental purpose of music education and quality education is consistent.

4.3 Playing the leading role in the music classroom teaching in higher vocational quality education

4.3.1 Music Classroom teaching -- the main channel for the implementation of quality education

Music classroom teaching is the main channel for implementation of quality education. Therefore, further strengthen the teaching of music education in the classroom is the key to the success of quality education. At present, people pay much attention to the diversified music education theory, which has been prevalent since the second half of 20th century, in particularly, to the classroom teaching content and teaching methods, which suit for applying to today's higher vocational music teaching.

4.3.2 Diversification of teaching content

Every country and ethnic music has its deep historical roots and cultural backgrounds. By learning, students should understand the world's outstanding folk music and master the histories, cultures, customs, aesthetics and the ways of thinking from different countries and nations, as well as shape an open type of thinking through seeing the countries and the world, so that students learn to understand and respect the musical culture of other countries, to establish equality in a wide range of values, aesthetics, etc. Therefore, in content selection, teachers should pay attention to the combinations of Chinese and foreign, ethnic, classical, modern, elegant, popular, pop music and others. Combinations of basic music theory, the concert playing skills, ear training, and foreign music appreciation in course construction make students have different choices in learning and meet the different needs of the students, so as to achieve the purpose of quality education.

4.4 Vocational music education should implement the concept of quality education.

Implementation of quality education is a profound revolution from the concept of education, the educational views and teaching contents to teaching methods. Implementing the concept of quality education in the vocational music education is not only an inherent requirement of the quality education, but also the theoretical basis of the implementation of the musical quality education. It should start from the China's Vocational actual characteristics, as well as considering the characteristics of the music disciplines. The key is to make vocational music education for all students and promote the overall development of students from the educational philosophy, but also give full play to the functions of aesthetics, innovation and practice of higher vocational music education in the education core content. So that vocational music education could become the true quality education through training all-round development of higher technical application experts.

5. Summary

As the important content and one of the ways of quality education, music education plays a decisive role in cultivating pioneering talents, in developing and formatting the student's personality. It promotes the comprehensive improvement of the students’ quality. At the same time, the implementation of quality education has opened up broad prospects for the development of music education, which is facing rare opportunities of development and will play a bigger role in quality education in vocational colleges.
