二、 过去进行时的考点搜索

1. 表示过去某个时刻或某个阶段正在进行的动作，常和表示过去的时间状语连用，如then， at that time， this time yesterday， at six last night， from 5 to 7 yesterday morning， the whole afternoon等。但是在一些情况下，没有表示时间的状语，而是通过上下文体现出来。

例如：I first met Lily five years ago. She was working at a clothes shop then. 五年前我第一次遇见莉莉，当时她在一家服装店工作。

The survival told the reporter that he was sleeping when the sleeper bus crashed into the truck. 幸存者告诉记者，卧铺汽车撞上卡车时他正在睡觉。

【经典例析9】（2012山东卷）The manager was concerned to hear that two of his trusted workers .

【解析】答案选D。题干中同样没有明确表示过去的时间状语，但是题干句子是个主从复合句，主句的动词时态用了一般过去时态，因此宾语从句也要相应地用过去时态。只是过去进行时态在本题中表示即将发生的动作。句意为：这位经理听说他的两个很受信任的工人打算离开，很是担忧。

三、 过去完成时的考点搜索

1. 表示一个动作或状态在过去某一时间或动作之前已经完成或结束，即发生在“过去的过去”。这个过去的时刻常通过by， before， when， until等引导的时间状语体现出来。

例如：By the 1990s the number of Tibetan antelopes had fallen to about 50，000. 到20世纪90年代，藏羚羊的数量下降到了大约5万只。

Johnson went to the box office at lunch time， but all the tickets had been sold out. 约翰逊在午饭时去售票处，但是票已售完。

【解析】答案选B。第一句用了过去时态，孩子们吃光东西发生在第一句动作之前，即发生在过去的过去，所以空格处要用过去完成时态。句意为：她惊讶地发现冰箱是空的，孩子们已经将所有东西都吃完了。

2. attempt， expect， hope， plan， wish， mean， intend， think， suppose， wish等动词的过去完成时表示过去未实现的愿望、计划或打算。

例如：I had intended to come to the party， but I was busy. 我原本打算来参加晚会的，可是我太忙了。

Like every school boy I had thought that going into space as an astronaut must be the best job in the world. 像所有的男生一样，我原以为成为宇航员进入太空肯定是世界上最棒的工作。

3. 在hardly/scarcely...when...， no sooner...than...句式中，主句常用过去完成时，表示“一……就……”。当hardly， scarcely， no sooner等位于句首时，主句常用部分倒装。

例如：I had hardly answered the teacher when he interrupted me. 我还没来得及回答老师的问题，他就打断了我的话。

No sooner had we left the dormitory the next morning than we found our map forgotten in the room. 第二天早晨我们刚离开宿舍，就发现把地图忘在房间里了。

【经典例析11】—How was the weather then？

【解析】答案选B。本题考查句型hardly...when...的用法，主句要用过去完成时态，同时hardly放在句首，主句要部分倒装。句意为：——当时天气怎么样？——我一下飞机就开始下雨了。

四、 过去将来时的考点搜索

对过去将来时的考查主要集中在考查这一时态的构成形式。过去将来时常用的构成形式有：1. would+动词原形；2. was/were going to+动词原形； 3. was/were to+动词原形；4. was/were about to+动词原形；5. 用过去进行时表示。
