Study on the Development Strategies for Local Colleges under the Background of Post-massification

Abstract It is a general trend that a country’s higher education will enter the post-massification stage after the massification stage. Chinese higher education has been in the massification stage since 2002， and began to present some characteristics of post-massification in those developed countries. In the post-massification period， local colleges have to face a lot of crisis and challenges. According to the case study， it is found， under the background of post-massification， local colleges should strive to improve the professional teaching quality， launch the applied talents cultivation； implement the stagger competition and strengthen local service function； increase the core competitiveness and overall school-running level.
