The Analysis of the Members' Subjective Apiration in Group Psychological Counsel

Abstract. Objective This study aims to analyze interpersonal pattern gr-oup psychological counseling process for members' subjective apiration. Method Using Nvivo7.0 qualitative analysis software to do the transcripts c-oding analysis of interpersonal pattern group psychological counseling pro-cess. Result Through the qualitative analysis,we find that members' sub-jective apiration have two trends: One trend is with the group psycholo-gical counseling process for increasing;another kind is: increase--decrease--increase, specificly showing that::existing subjective apiration-- The subjective will weaken(because of denial and skepticism this group )or strengthen(accepting this group)-- the subjective apiration increases, applying new pattern in groups--the subjective apiration become specification, the new pattern to repl-ace the old pattern in life. Conclusion 1. In interpersonal group counseling process, members' subjective apiration exists two kinds of trend that to weakened after reinforcement and enhancement gradually strengthen; 2. Members' subjective apiration of group psychological counseling can influence the effect of group psychological counseling.

Subjective apiration refers to a psychological tendency that the individual psychological willing and spontaneously active in cognitive and affective aspects do have prepared for some behavior. Its existence and change trend affects the individual behavior in the interpersonal pattern group psychological counseling process and the effect of group psychological counselling.

According to the seven stages of group psychological counseling as a clue, with interpersonal pattern group psychological counseling is relying on, the transcript of group psychological counseling process for the materials of analysis,we explore the subjective apiration development trend in the interpersonal pattern group psychological counseling process.

Participants

Groups. Interpersonal pattern group psychological counseling is an important form of group psychological counseling, as the core is the interpersonal interaction among members of interpersonal pattern group psychological counseling, through personal interaction between members to promote members' growth and change, by members of mutual feedback to solve the members' development or situational problems.

Groups members. Interpersonal pattern group psychological counseling include twelve a-ctivities, 9 members(5 female and 4 male), including undergraduate and graduate students, between the ages of 18-22.

Method

Material. This study material is transcribed verbatim text.from over 9 individual interviews in the group psychological counseling preparation stage and ele-ven group psychological counseling recordings .

Statistical analysis tools. Nvivo7.0 qualitative analysis soft ware

Procedure

Interpersonal pattern group psychological counseling for a total of twelve times, the group counseling process, no specific exercises and activities. The first group psychological counseling to prepare lesson, explain the basic knowledge of the member groups; then conducted personal interviews. From second to eleventh, as the group counseling process stage, each group counseling for 110 minutes, from 7:00-8:50 on every Sunday night. Twelfth for the group counseling for two months after the end of the group interview.

Results and analysis

Members' subjective apiration have two trends : One trend is with the group psychological counseling process for increasing;another kind is: increase--decrease―increase,specificly showing that::existing subjective apiration--The subjective apiration weaken(because of denial and skepticism this group )or strengthen(accepting this group)-- the subjective apiration increases, applying new pattern in groups--the subjective apiration become specification, the new pattern to replace the old pattern in life.

Preparation stage -- subjective apiration exists, accompanied by a certain expectation.

In the group stages of preparation, group has not formed, in the preparatory process, and recruits for the interviewing process, we understand that the members of the relevant circumstances, we found members exist subjective apiration, and have certain expectations for the activities. Members 'words: in the interview " I want to know how to expand the circle of friends" ( FT )," I want to improve my interpersonal relationships by participating in this activity, especially with roommate get along" "I feel my interpersonal communication is not good, a bit self-abased, I want to strengthen my faith" ( DH )," I think we are not happy with this situation, a lot of the time this society give us a lot of time what we really hate, but we can change our attitude" ( YT ).

In the interview process, the leader will describe the theme of the event and a predetermined group goals can help members clear personal goals, members' expectations will further increase.

Beginning stage and conflict stage. Because of members' initial expectations and individual differences in personality, subjective apiration vary in the beginning stage and conflict stage, and some members' subjective apiration decline, but also a portion of the member 's subjective apiration is enhanced.

Some members' subjective apiration decline

In the beginning stages, from the surface, DH plays the role of a bystander, saying very few words. In the conflict stage, some members emrge inner contradiction. As JY told DH:" you are nervous not only in the crowd, but also out the crowd, do you have thought about whether you want take acitive into communication?" (JY ), some members want to escape, but also think that to avoid is unreasonable, such as" I want to avoid it, but I feel I can't do it ." ( YX ), and some members doubt the group, such as" I can control the import, I can join it when I want to join, when the group is occurring within some uncomfortable things, I can jump out" ( DH ).

In the beginning, many uncertain factors make the group members lack a sense of identity and belonging of groups. Communication between them is tentative, self exposure is low, with the member lead to increased exposure, among members of inconsistent behavior, ideas and values, thus causing the various hostility and conflict. Some members will produce psychological defense, suspected group effectiveness. If such a conflict did not get be settlemented well, members' subjective apiration would be affected, the subjective apiration will drop.

Subjective apiration increase

In the conflict stage, because of many uncertain factors make the group members produce inconsistent behaviour, ideas and values, thus causing the various hostility and conflict. But this kind of conflict to a certain extent, can promote the formation of group dynamics. Initial expectations of appropriate and strong self-consciousness members are willing to accept other members to put forward their own challenges suggestions, the inconsistent views among members will cause their reflection, to promote members interaction and change, which makes members' subjective apiration increase.

This part of the members are aware of their old patterns of behavior problems, and want to change, such as" I feel the last few words lead to others know little about me , I will be activet o change this time." ( DH )," There is no matter how the final get along is the psychological side beause I know he is good for me. Therefore, I will work hard to change" ( YT ). At this time the leader will tell you that this conflict to a certain extent, can promote the formation of group dynamics, promote the group development, Strong will members will try to save and then promote the group development.

The standard stage and efficiency stage -- the subjective apiration enhance

To enter the standard stage, group activity started on the right track, also become standardized, slowly toward the performance stage. Members started to change their behavior, and accept what members proposed. Such as" I want to learn to speak flexibility like other members in this regard, I will strengthen" ( DH )," I hope my example let you get in with such people better." ( YT ),"If you said that this time, the next time you meet with it, that the degree of discomfort will be reduced. Because you recognized this uncomfortable, so this will alleviate uncomfortable." ( JY ). Fron these transcripts we can be seen, members' subjective apiration in group psychological counseling enhance.

After the standard stage, enter the efficiency stage, group cohesion increases gradually, more and more stable relationship between members, members began to identify other members, self expression becomes smoother, more open, to discuss ways to solve the problem, group effectiveness comes into play, group members on the problems of admission more to their subjective apiration strengthen. Members are shown in the kind of joy, they are willing to stay in the group, and with the group. Such as:" life is related to trust a little more, a little less safe. The relationship between people is gradually built up, mutual test, choose each other, mutually adjust." ( RX )" I think there will be deeper understanding, everybody is more chat, chat deep, can someone give me feedback in our group." ( JY ), "we're in this group, their more deep impression, his very feel something, speak his mind. So give others bring some impact, give yourself to the things to deal with, also provide some methods, I feel this is very good" ( YT ).

End stage and after the end of stage -- the subjective apiration become specification, the new pattern to replace the old pattern in life.

After the first five stages, the keen degree of members in the group reached its highest point, they would like to stay in groups, andwith the groups. When the members apply some skills into real life, members' subjective apiration was significantly enhanced, and turning to specification.

We see" It is gradually come to realize, more trusting people to communicate, feel very good, and the relationship between students is more and more close, feeling learned a lot. This is my change." ( JY )," I see DH's change on the opposite sex, I am so happy for you" ( JY ),"If encounter such a thing in the life ,I we would make efforts to change" ( YT )," In the following several times in group counseling, I began to change their tone, after group counseling, I will continue to change these bad habits" ( FT )," The first promise, I cashed out, but I'm make efforts to do the second commitment which can be said to have been resolved in part." ( YX ), "In the beginning, to tell the truth I don't know how to communicate and exchange, it is said that not very clear orientation, I can't decide where to stand, walk too close, or far away, I'm not sure. But then, as he himself exposed to much, and for others to chat more, the people like me, special family, rather than his appearance as special as others. And then I understood, produce in the emotional recognition and acceptance, is generally accepted will feel more and more of their loved ones feel." ( JY )," I won't say empathy or rarely feel others, though communicate with members and their giving my feedback and you keep trying and in the life practice, that you will find the cause of not empathy, you can correct direction .for example with a heart to communicate with others, feel and understanding of others," ( CF ).

Results

The effect analysis of interpersonal pattern group psychological counseling

The total score of interpersonal disturbance and interpersonal problems preest-after the end of the interview measurement showed significant difference.

Members' subjective apiration of group psychological counseling influence the effect of group

psychological counseling.

With the increase of members' subjective apiration, members' interpersonal patterns transformed from passive gradually into active in the interpersonal pattern group psychological counseling,and members take active participation in group counseling, active discovery and change their interpersonal patterns, and to learn new behavior pattern to replace the old patterns of behavior, the subjective apiration become specification, ultimately affect the effect of group psychological counseling.

Conclusions

First, In interpersonal group counseling process, members' subjective apiration exists two kinds of trend that to weakened after reinforcement and enhancement gradually strengthen;

Second, Members' subjective apiration of group psychological counseling can influence the effect of group psychological counseling.
