我们请妈妈当裁判。妈妈说：“本裁判可咸菜烧豆腐——有言（盐）在先。这场比赛绝对公平，要是谁敢作弊，本裁判可不会木匠吊线——睁一只眼，闭一只眼。”爸爸说：“这场比赛的冠军我是三个指头捏田螺——稳拿。”爸爸话音未落，我就反驳道：“就你？对英语七窍通了六窍——一窍不通的英语盲？真是梦里坐飞机——想入非（飞）非（飞）。想当冠军，三十晚上盼月亮——没希望！冠军一定是我！”“谁说我对英语一窍不通？我看你才是飞机上吹喇叭——空想！”爸爸也不甘示弱。“得了，不和你吵，咱们比赛中见真招吧。”我知道爸爸是打肿脸充胖子——死要面子，便让他一步。爸爸见我让步，也“撤”了，说：“行，开始吧。”

这次比赛我是蓝方，爸爸是红方。比赛规则很简单：本场比赛分两轮。第一轮是必答题，每人回答三个问题，每次答题时间是三十秒，答对一题加一分，答错或答不出不加分。第二轮是抢答题，因为没有抢答器，所以谁先想到就说出来。抢答正确加一分，抢答错误不给分。如果三十秒之内双方都没有说出正确答案，就由裁判公布正确答案，再进行下一题。

比赛开始了。妈妈先问爸爸：“‘香蕉’用英语怎么说？”“啊？！香蕉？！唉，真是刚学理发就碰上大胡子——难题（剃）呀！我不知道。”爸爸一脸难堪。“‘教师’用英语怎么说？”“这个太容易了，‘Teacher’！”“红方回答正确，加一分。”“耶！”爸爸高兴得跳了起来。“‘Zoo’是什么意思？”“这……这应该是……”哈，爸爸是丈二和尚——摸不着头脑。这一轮结束，爸爸一分，我故意刺激爸爸，说：“老爸，你呀，程咬金三斧头——就这两下子！就你还想拿第一，天上掉馅饼——想得美！”爸爸被我气得没话说。

轮到我了。妈妈问：“‘鱼’用英语怎么说？”我脱口而出：“‘Fish’！”“蓝方回答正确，加一分。”“‘Bun’是什么意思？”我不假思索地说：“馒头。”“蓝方回答正确，再加一分。”看我对答如流，爸爸可是孙悟空大闹天宫——慌了神。到最后一题了，妈妈问：“‘垃圾箱’怎么说？”我歪着脑袋想了想，装作想不出来的样子，说：“垃圾箱……垃圾箱……”爸爸在旁边得意地笑，好象是幸灾乐祸。妈妈急得直跺脚，不停地向我使眼色。我冲妈妈笑了笑，大声地说：“‘Rubbish bin’！”“完全正确，蓝方再加一分！”妈妈高兴得满面红光，一边拍手一边说。“看来我是输定了。”爸爸一脸沮丧地说。

“下面是抢答题。‘糖’怎么说？”“‘Suppr’！”这一次，爸爸答对了，抢到了一分。“‘星期一’怎么说？”“‘Monday’！”我也不甘示弱。“‘Spring’”还没等爸爸反应过来呢，我又抢到了一分……

半个小时后，家庭英语单词比赛结束了。我30分，爸爸20分。“我嬴啦！”我高兴得一蹦三尺高。咦？爸爸呢？噢，原来爸爸正拿着我的英语书学习呢！

“君子报仇，十年不晚。下星期再来场怎么样？”爸爸扬了扬手中的英语书问我。
