The novel, Three Body I written by the Chinese well-known science fiction writer was published in 2006, the following two sequels of which caused the sensation among the Chinese readers and triggered Chinese readers’ passion to read the science fiction.
Now, the Three Body is being translated into English to output the copyright. Three English translators have been confirmed. And they are Liu Yukun, Eric Abrahamson and Joel Martinson. Liu Yukun, who won two awards on American science fiction (The Hugo Award, and The Nebula Award), will undertake the translation work of Three Body I . The Three Body II, Dark Forest will be undertaken by Eric Abrahamson. And the translator Joel Martinson will undertake the translation work of Three Body III, Death to Eternal Life.

The author of the book, Liu Cixin, is a computer engineer. After Liu Cixin made this decision, Liu Yukun then became the suitable translator, who burst into his mind first.
Liu Yukun graduated from Harvard University and currently lives in Boston. He is a lawyer, but also wrote a lot of science fiction and won two prizes of American science fiction in 2012. He translated The Rural Teacher, Taking care of God and other short stories of Liu Cixin before. Mr. Liu is also very excited that he can be a translator of Triology II, so he can introduce the great work of Chinese science fiction to the readers all over the world.
As far as Liu Cixin’s concerned, Liu Yukun’s biggest feature is that he is able to integrate the oriental aesthetic into the narration of the science fiction, which has a great value either in scientific or literary. It can’t be felt in the works of western masters.
