Wool Forward： IWTO’s 84th Annual Congress will take place 18-20 May 2015 in Zhangjiagang， China. Join wool industry leaders from around the world in this center of the Chinese textile trade， as we explore the sustainable future of our fiber. The iwto congress is the annual meeting place for industry leaders throughout the supply chain. With the goal of working together to build a professional and sustainable industry， participants include growers， traders， primary processors， spinners， weavers and garment manufacturers， together with retailers and other organizations involved in the wool pipeline. IWTO Congresses are attended by high level management representatives. This year’s Congress takes place 18-20 2015 in Zhangjiagang， China. Formerly a small farming town， the port city of Zhangjiagang is a well-known trading base for wool imports and a manufacturing hub for wool exports making it an ideal location for the 84th IWTO Congress. The city’s proximity to Shanghai― just 100 km ― led its development in the 1980s into one of China’s first manufacturing epicentres. In 1993 the city was chosen as a “Model City”， and in 2008 received a UN Habitat Scroll of Honour Award in recognition of its achievements in urban development. Today Zhangjiagang is one of the top ten urban areas in China， known for its large parks， clean streets and friendly inhabitants. Taking the lead from Zhangjiagang’s transformation from fishing village to a model city of the future， the theme of the 84th IWTO Congress is WOOL FORWARD， where we will explore the future of our fibre. IWTO is currently accepting submissions for Congress presentations. Presentations should apply the WOOL FORWARD theme in the context of one of the following Congress sessions：

Look forward： Overview on future market and consumer developments.

Think forward： Latest innovation， research and technological developments for wool.

Put forward： Contributions to the Contracts & Specifications Committee & Technical Groups （a separate call for these papers will follow in early 2015）.

Moving forward： Developments on wool’s environmental credentials along the processing supply chain.

Smart forward： Learn from strategic cooperations along the supply chain delivering wool excellence by the example of Cool Wool.
