Abstract

The author of this essay has first probed into the human beings’ necessity for the common language, and has expounded on the easiest common language existing everywhere in the cosmos and running through all “dead” & living things, and then has listed its very-widely-used and never-exhausted applications. Based on his many years’ researches and experiments, the author has pointed out that the universal language exists in the human brain and the human languages, expecting to solve the long-suspending and unsettled technical problems in the language researching and teaching. The essay has sketched a prospect of the human common language, and one practical and scientific route

adopting the universal language and the human brains’ laws and the excellences of the-most-widely-used language can bring about the formation of the human common language, and finally called on every nation and every earthman to do a bit for the formation.

Key words: Cosmic common language; Brain and sound language; Laws; Human common language

1. THE EASIEST LANGUAGE RUNNING THROUGH EVERYWHERE IN THE COSMOS

We human beings are very great and also very small and lowly. We have discovered more and more stars, traveling in the vast universe, and have reached the other stars. We have made vehicles, trains, airplanes, atomic bombs, H-bombs, N-bombs, computers, robots, clone persons, and have changed the varieties of the life forms. In the micro-world, we have discovered particles such as molecules, atoms, neutrons, protons, gluons, leptons, hadrons, and even made use of the Large Hadron Collider to find out the mystery of the origin of the universe. We have benefited more and more from exploiting more and more the ocean. We have gone 10 kilometers down the ocean to find valuable deposits. William Shakespeare (1966) sang a song for the human beings in Hamlet:

“What a piece of work is man!

how noble in reason!

how infinite in faculty!

in form and moving how express and admirable!

in action how like an angel!

in apprehension how like a god!

the beauty of the world! the paragon of animals!”

Meanwhile we human beings are insignificantly small in the limitless vast universe. So far we have not known what world we have come from and what place we are eventually going to. Many human beings on the earth are still suffering from hunger, disease and misery brought about by chaos and wars. On many occasions we are powerless when natural disasters come. A tsunami may swallow thousands upon thousands of people suddenly in a few minutes, just as many ants are drowned when a tub of water was poured accidentally into their den. We are even often worried about becoming extinct suddenly from this earth as the dinosaurs disappeared 0.2 billion years ago. We human beings have not had our own common language yet. Many earthmen could not understand other earthmen’s languages as soon as they leave their own households and reach other lands.

Human beings are born with such characteristic: full of curiosity, fond of challenging, never giving in, and never stopping striving. As we have made more and more achievements in exploring the universe, we are also expecting to meet with extraterrestrials. Though there is no definite conclusion about whether or not there exist extraterrestrials, no one can stop us human beings from fancy meeting with them with curiosity. The higher civilization we reach, with stronger curiosity we fancy meeting with them. Suppose we human beings meet with the extraterrestrials one day, what easiest language can we use to get in touch with them?

The following is one encounter of Mr. Tom and Mrs. Tom with one extraterrestrial.

That day a streak of lightning cleft through the window with a loud sound. Soon, Mr. and Mrs. Tom opened the door in response to a knock, and saw a middle-sized strange-looking figure in the courtyard. Mr. Tom went to him, followed by his wife. Mr. Tom said “Hello” to the figure, but received no response. Mrs. Tom said, “Is it a ghost?” Mr. Tom shook his head and said “No”. Mrs. Tom asked, “Does it come here to ask us for something?” Mr. Tom nodded his head and said, “Yes.”

Tom went closer to the stranger and asked, “Do you speak English?” The stranger shook the head and said, “No.” Tom asked successively about whether or not he speaks French and Russian and Chinese. The stranger shook the head and said successively, “No, no, no.” When they were talking, Mrs. Tom went back into the house and got back a map. Tom pointed to the European part and the Asian part and asked, “Do you come from these two parts?” The stranger answered successively, “No, no.” Mrs. Tom pointed up to the sky and asked, “Do you come from the sky?” The stranger answered quickly, “Yes.” Tom said, “Ah, the friend from faraway.” Then Tom pointed to his own mouth and asked, “Are you hungry and thirsty?” The stranger said, “No.” At this moment, a group of kids came to watch the scene of the bustle. The stranger pointed to Mrs. Tom and one little boy, and drew Mrs. Tom to him. Tom drew back the wife quickly and said, “Do you mean to take my wife away with you?” The stranger said, “Yes.” Tom said loudly, “Impossible. You can not take my wife away.” The stranger took out some seed-like materials from his pocket. As he said some words Tom and his wife can not understand, he handed them to Tom. Mrs. Tom found they were various seeds. The stranger pointed to Mrs. Tom and Mr. Tom and then to the seeds in Tom’s palms, the kids and the sky. Mr. and Mrs. Tom said in chorus, “Do you ask us to give you the seeds on our earth?” The stranger said, “Yes.” Mrs. Tom got back into the room and fetched some seeds from the farm and the vegetable garden. The stranger said repeatedly, “Yes, yes.” Taking the seeds, he saluted Mr. and Mrs. Tom, and walked fast to the wood where something was shining. Soon a UFO-like vehicle took off and faded out like a shooting star.

The above more than 10 “yes” or “no” are enough to express the extraterrestrial’s wish for the seeds on the earth. The dialogues between Mr. and Mrs. Tom and the stranger are similar to the general questions that we often ask students to practice in the English class (1). That is, Student A should think of a certain object or a wish or a purpose in his or her mind before he practices. What he or she has thought of should not change. Student B shall guess out the object or the wish or the purpose in student A’s mind by asking no more than 20 questions whose answers should only be yes or no. In fact, both the extraterrestrial and Student A have used the concept of Affirmation and Negation, Including and excluding, Unity and Oppositeness or we can say what they have used is similar to the 01 language existing in the macro-world, the objective world, the human society, and the micro-world.

The 01 language is the easiest common language in the cosmos. We can regard the cosmos before the explosion as “0”, and regard its explosion as “1”. Leibniz, a mathematician, once said, as long as “1” appeared, the cosmos has everything from nil. It is known that “0” is made up of “+1” and “-1”. The ancient Chinese traditional medicine believes that all objects and living things are born from Yin (-1) and Yang (+1). Materialists believe that nothing but materials exists in the cosmos. The nature and the human society are full of the materials and the living things that are both unifying and also opposing, or are in the two contrasting different states e.g. male and female, Yang and Yin, masculine and feminine, recharge and discharge, big and small, forward and backward, high and law, white and black, on and off, existence and non-existence, acting and reacting forces of objects and celestial bodies, positive charges and negative charges, right and wrong among human beings, certainty and uncertainty, affirming and denying. All these can be expressed in the form of “+1” and “-1” that can constitute countless disorderly 011010110.... All objects and living things are constantly moving or changing. Their stationary state is only relative. Even if they are not moving or changing, in their interiors, there are moving and changing, e.g. the exploding of the universe, circling of stars, location changing of the galaxy, the moving of such small particles as molecules, atoms, hadrons, gluons, leptons, the birth of human beings and animals, the growth of plants. All of them have the process from “0” to “+1”. They constitute countless orderly 01010101....

The 01 language has been widely used, e.g. all numbers in Mathematics can be expressed by the 01 language. Human beings have adopted the 01 language for the computers used in nearly all fields. The pictures and data we human beings have got in exploring the moon and Mars are sent to the earth through the 01 language. Human beings’ regards to extraterrestrials and the data recording our greatest achievements and so on have been converted into the 01 language and sent to other stars. We believe the extraterrestrials, if there are, can understand them, just because the 01 language is an easiest basic language in the cosmos. We have also used the 01 languages (by giving directives) to control space-detectors’ taking off, flying, reaching the moon or the stars, flying back and landing. As a lot of pictures, diagrams, numbers and sound and so on can be converted into the 01 language, and be converted back again, applications of the 01 language, in medical field, military fields, daily life, the cosmos explosion imitating, robot-making, genetic engineering are too numerous to mention.

2. THE HUMAN COMMON LANGUAGE TOGETHER WITH THE COSMIC COMMON LANGUAGE

It is rarely noticed that the 01 language exists in another universe

the human brain, and that it is the soul of the human oral languages. It can not be separated from the human body and thinking just as human flesh and blood could not be separated. In my “On Imitating Thinking Orbit and its Great Value” (3), “The Basic Rules of Marxist Philosophy Say “No” to the Long-standing English Teaching” (4) and “Researching into the Principles of Tecolang English” (5), I did a pursuing-origins-and-seeking-rules research along the obit of life (consciousness or the brain), the orbit of the sound languages, and the orbit of the written languages and culture and so on, and found that in the brain and human thinking, the orderly 010101… rule and the disorderly 01101001… rule and so on do exist. We completely discarded the crust of one-widely-used language (the words), input the language materials (texts) into the computer, and re-edit them according to the 01 rule automatically with the help of new software, and did the teaching experiments on pupils, middle school students and college students for many years, and got surprisingly good results from each experiment. Faster and more efficient achievements were also made by using the brand-new method to learn other international languages. We have got the gold medal granted by the Chinese authoritative institution for the unique method. From researches and experiments we have concluded that as long as we human beings make use of the 01 rule and allow full play to the brains’ natural laws, and take in the advantages of the-mainly-and-widely-used languages, we can quickly and easily form the common language of the earthmen. We have written series of Human-Common-Language-English Textbooks (7), and have them published. Learners can use English after they learn for one day, one week, or one month. Within 20 months (not 6 years or 10 years) learners can finish learning the contents covering all the present textbooks used in the primary and middle schools, and universities, and get the very satisfying results. Their application ability is higher than the present textbook learners. It has been proved, to a certain degree that the combination of the 01 rule and the brains’ laws and the widely-used English can help bring about the formation of the Human common language.

3. A MANIFESTO OF A HUMAN COMMON LANGUAGE

In the 1840s, Mark and Engels issued Manifesto of the Communist Party, which has shocked and influenced the world. That a simple and easily-learned-and-used common language is quickly formed on this earth is also of significance. Today when the human society is getting more and more globalized, let us all earth-men of different nationalities, races, languages, believes, sexes and ages, unite and strive for a man’s common language.

On this earth, there are forests of countries, each of which is always and everywhere scrambling for its own interest. Although there is unity between or among nations, still conflicts occur constantly between or among them. Obviously, if the human race has a common language, then it will be good to increasing understanding and friendship, and good to learning from and helping each other.

In fact, the human race has already had some common languages: e.g. the languages of math, physics, and chemistry, the music language and the computer language and so on. All these languages have played a big role in carrying the human race forward. A lot of scholars in history invented hundreds of human common language plans, but they gave too many priorities to the man-made literal symbols. It is well known that man is the products of materials that evolved into a high level. It is true that the human brain is the product of society, but, first of all, it is the product of developed materials. So the human thinking must possess the laws of materials, and have the characteristics all materials share. Man’s common language should exist in the common genes of the human brain. As long as we make use of laws in the evolved

from materials brain, and the generalities of the human thinking, then we human beings can realize the common language much easily. The natural languages of any nations have their own strong points and weak points. Any of them could not easily become the human race’s common language without reforming. Let us make use of the generalities of the human thinking, absorb the essence and reject the dross on the basis of world-widely used English, absorb the advantages of the world’s main languages, and absorb the merits of the common languages many scholars invented, and of language researches many scholars had done into (e.g. both the language learning symbols created by many European scholars in 1888, and the Chinese Pinyin symbols created by the Chinese scholars in 1950s, have many merits), make use of the peculiar and simple natural laws in the brain, to study language, e.g. Tecolang or English, so as to create quickly a big common language speaking climatic zone.

Science and technology is the locomotive of the human history. However, in many countries, people spend too much time, energy, manpower on language studying, e.g. English learning of Chinese students in schools and colleges has been burden and hardship. Students of one generation after another have been tortured, because the teaching and learning have been acting against the natural laws in the brain. Why do not we bring about a teaching revolution of overthrowing thoroughly the backward teaching and learning methods by making use of the natural laws and the generalities of the human brain to learn the essence of the most often-used language, so as to increase the teaching and learning efficiencies, and to make a contribution to the formation of man’s common language? In the countries where English is the people’s native language, English studying also costs much time. As long as the native speakers of English admit that English has shortcomings, too, and make some effort to participate in the reforming of the language and the teaching, by making use of the natural laws in the brain and the generalities of the human languages, they can more easily make a contribution to the formation of man’s common language.

The destruction of Man may not be only because of the dangers from the other planets, but also of human beings themselves, because on this earth, human’s selfishness is shown obviously, conflicts occur constantly, wars never end. People often say science has no boundary (that is, science can be used everywhere). But the fact is, the people in power in any countries are trying every means to keep the scientists in other countries from the new discoveries and inventions of their own. In this world, no country is proved really unselfish. In fact, sometimes, some countries do not guarantee that the discoveries or inventions offered to the world unselfishly by their citizens are not plagiarized or not randomly used by pirates and businessmen. They even get petty advantages at the expense of the offers. We humans need badly a common means to promote and protect the scientific achievements available to the human common benefits. If there is a common language, although it could not stop the selfishness of each country, it can contribute to the union and common wealth of the human race. Fighting between or among countries for territories, oceans and space is only a trivial matter. Space is vast and magnificent, the universe is boundless. How man seeks the means of survival and development is of importance. The solution to it needs how man understands each other, learns from each other, and co-operates through the more convenient use of a common language. Man’s scientific discoveries and invention should be used in common, not be kept in the dark from each other. When the extraterrestrials /ekstr3ti`restri3lz/ invade the terrestrials (the terrains, or earth-men), it is too late for the earth-men to regret for their fighting among themselves. From now on, why do not we earth-men call for this: every one of us in the human common family can do a bit, let us strive for the formation of man’s common language.
