Struggle

A man found a cocoon of a butterfly． One day a small opening appeared；he sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through that little hole． Then it seemed to stop making any progress． It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could and it could go no farther．

Then the man decided to help the butterfly，so he took a pair of scissors and snipped off the remaining bit of the cocoon． The butterfly then emerged easily． But it had a swollen body and small，shriveled wings．

The man continued to watch the butterfly because he expected that，at any moment，the wings would en- large and expand to be able to support the body，which would contractin time．

Neither happened! In fact，the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around with a swollen body and shriveled wings． It never was able to fly．

What the man in his kindness and haste did not understand was that the restricting cocoon and the struggle required for the butterfly to get through the tiny opening were nature’s way of forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly into is wings，so that it would be ready for flight once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon

Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our life. If nature allowed us to go through our life without any obstacles，it would cripple us. We would not be as strong as what we could have been．

And we could never fly……

一个人看到一个蝴蝶茧。一天，茧上面出现了一个小孔。茧里面的蝴蝶拼命想要从那个小孔里挣扎出来，那个人坐在那儿，一直观察了好几个小时。然而，蝴蝶似乎放弃了努力，好像它已经竭尽全力了，不可能再有所作为了。

那个人决定帮一下蝴蝶，于是，他用剪刀剪开了蝶茧。蝴蝶很轻松地钻了出来。但是它身体臃肿，翅膀软弱无力。

那个人继续观察那只蝴蝶。他希望蝴蝶的翅膀随时能坚硬起来，坚硬到足以支撑身体，而它臃肿的身体迟早会变小。

但是，蝴蝶的身体没有变小，它的翅膀也没有变硬!事实上，那只蝴蝶是拖着臃肿的身躯和萎缩的翅膀靠在地上爬行度过余生的。它永远也不会在天上飞翔。

那位善良而急性的人不懂，蝴蝶需要茧的桎梏，通过必须的挣扎爬出小孔。它的体液可以自然而然地被排挤到翅膀当中。这样，在挣脱了茧的束缚，获得自由后，蝴蝶就能够展翅飞翔了。

有时候奋斗才是我们生活所必需的。如果一帆风顺地度过一生，大自然就会使我们变成残废，也就无法拥有我们可能拥有的强壮。

而且我们永远都无法展翅高飞……
