Life's Struggles
A man found a 1)cocoon of an 2)emperor moth and took it home. On the day a small opening appeared, the man sat and watched the moth for several hours as the moth struggled to force the body through that little hole.
The moth seemed to be stuck and appeared to have stopped making progress. It seemed as if it had gotten as far as it could and it could go no further. The man, in his kindness, decided to help the moth. He took a pair of scissors and 3)snipped off the remaining bit of the cocoon. The moth then emerged easily. But its body was small, and its wings 4)wrinkled and 5)shriveled.
The man continued to watch the moth because he expected that, at any moment, the wings would enlarge and expand to be able to support the body. Neither happened. In fact, the little moth spent the rest of its life 6)crawling around with a small body and shriveled wings. It never was able to fly.
The man did not understand that the struggle required for the moth to get through the tiny opening was necessary to force7)fluid from the body of the moth into its wings, so that it would be ready to fly. Freedom and flight would only come after the struggle. By 8)depriving the moth of a struggle, he deprived the moth of health.
Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our life. If we were to go through our life without any 9)obstacles, we would be 10)crippled. We would not be as strong as what we could have been. Give every opportunity a chance, leave no room for regrets, and don’t forget the power in the struggle.
有个人找到了一只帝蛾的茧，就把它带了回家。有一天，茧上出现了一个小裂口，他便坐在一旁看了好几个小时，观察蛾如何挣扎着让身体穿过那个狭小的洞口。

他不知道只有经过从茧上狭小的洞口破壳而出的挣扎，才能迫使蛾躯体内的体液流到它的翅膀里，才能够展翅飞翔。自由与飞翔只有在经历过挣扎以后才会到来。他免去了蛾的挣扎，同时也剥夺了它健康成长的机会。
有时候，我们生命中所需要的正是挣扎。如果我们要一帆风顺地度过此生，那么我们就如同跛子，不能健全。我们就不能成长得如我们原本可以的那样坚强。给每个可能性以机会，不为懊悔留下丝毫余地，还有―不要忘记挣扎中的那种力量。
