Etihad to fly to Dusseldorf

A la carte meal options on KLM
From September 14, you can choose from four a la carte meal options in KLM’s Economy Class. The meals will be available on all intercontinental services. NY to get new street signs
Mayor Bloomberg, in an effort to promote pedestrianism and reduce congestion in the subway, is going to install new street signs. The design is yet to be determined but an example released by officials showed a gridded street map sprinkled with landmarks and transit options. A recent survey found that a third of the New yorkers stopped on the street could not say which was north, and about one in 10 admitted to getting lost in the previous week.
Bangkok cruises from Anantara
Two 100-year-old rice barges, Anantara Song and Anantara Dream, have been rebuilt and fitted with modcons to take you down Thailand’s waterways, notably Bangkok’s Chao Phraya River. Belgium gets a swanky museum
Antwerp’s MAS museum, which has a Michelin-starred restaurant, contains more than 470,000 exhibits relating to the history of the city’s port and its people. The exhibits cover everything from Flemish painting to Pre-Colombian art. One of the highlights is the MAS Boulevard, which takes you from the ground floor to the ninth on escalators while you enjoy views of Antwerp through 6m-high glass panels. www.mas.be
Heritage museum in Shimla
A 120-year-old heritage building, known as US Club, has been converted into a museum. The Shimla Heritage Museum has a collection of 50 old pictures and sketches to take you through the history of the former British capital. Some of the landmarks photographed are Town Hall, Viceregal Lodge, gaiety Theatre, Barnes Court, Combermere Bridge and gorton Castle.
