“吃”、“喝”有讲究

中国有着源远流长的饮食文化，西方“吃喝”的学问也不小！英语中表示“吃”、“喝”的词有eat， have和drink。 但如何使用好have， eat和drink，可是很有讲究的哦。

1. have是普通用词，既可以指“吃”，也可以指“喝”，多用于表示三餐的名词之前。在英国，人们习惯上用have来代替drink； 而在美国，人们却常用eat来代替have。 但应注意，与meal和表示三餐的名词（breakfast， lunch， supper）连用时，只能用have， 而不用其他的词。例如：

We have three meals a day. 我们一天吃三顿饭。

Have a cup of tea， please. 请喝杯茶。

They have breakfast at home. 他们在家吃早饭。

2. eat指把固体的东西放在嘴里吃，多用于美国。它既可以作“吃”讲，也可以作“喝汤”讲。例如：

She wants something different to eat. 她想吃点别的东西。

Sometimes we go out to eat with our friends. 有时候我们出去和朋友们一起吃饭。

I eat rice， meat and vegetables for lunch. 午餐我吃米饭，肉和蔬菜。

The girl eats like a bird. 这女孩吃得很少。

My mother likes to eat soup. 我妈妈喜欢喝汤。（注意：表示“喝汤”之意时，除了have外，还可用eat， 但不能用drink。）

3. drink可作动词用，表示“饮”、“喝”之意，后接果蔬汁类的东西作宾语，习惯上用来指喝水、茶、牛奶等饮料。 drink也可用作名词，表示“饮料”之意。此外， drink还有“喝酒”的意思。例如：

Would you like something to drink？ 你想喝点什么吗？

Let’s have a drink. 我们喝一杯（酒）吧。

We need food and drink. 我们需要食物和饮料。

We can have a drink of orange， too. 我们也可以喝杯橘子汁。

4. take作“吃”、“喝”讲时，不如have， eat正式，但表示“吃药”时，应该说take medicines。 例如：

Take the medicine， and you will be all right. 把这药吃了，你就会好起来的。

Take the medicine three times a day. 这种药每天吃三次。

注意：表示“随便吃……”时，应该用help yourself/yourselves （to ...）。 例如：

Help yourself to some fish， please. 请随便吃些鱼。
