Pullman Gurgaon Central Park

the Pullman Gurgaon Central Park is the new kid on the block in the Millennium City. Positioned as an upscale business hotel, the approach and the unassuming exterior belie the luxury inside. The edgy installations, tasteful décor and small water beds in and around the lobby give an air of understated elegance and uber chic modernity.

Food

As I entered the all-day dining restaurant, SEN5ES, the subtle colours and the warm inviting ambience set the mood for a sensory culinary experience. There are five live interactive cooking stations and the buffet spread, as expected, had a little bit of everything. I steered myself towards the healthy bits and then gave up! So I had a slice of the marinara seafood pizza recommended by the chef, some shrimps, forkful of piri piri chicken, some of the French cheeses, the Malabari fish and then some more. Everything was delicious but my vote goes to the Beijing duck pancakes with cucumber, spring onion and plum sauce. Equally divine was the vanilla custard tart. All in all, the food was great and the service even better.

Rooms

The view from my room—a typical urban landscape—wasn’t much to rave about but the interiors, slick and classy, more than made up for it. I think it’s the bathroom’s size and the glass fa?ade that really ups the glam factor. There’s a huge tub, a spacious shower cubicle, a big white marble counter and still a lot of room left. Much impressed with the overall setting, I settled in to unwind. There was a Nespresso coffee machine in the room but I decided to call for a cold coffee. Yes, the room service was efficient and prompt. I wish, though, the dessert options in the in-room menu were more interesting to satisfy my nocturnal sweet tooth craving. The bed was comfortable and I overslept.

FACILITIES

Apart from SEN5ES, there is a specialty French-Italian restaurant, La Riviera, which offers a selection of the lobby of the understated and uber chic business hotel Nicean, Marseillaise and Ligurian specialties. Citrique, the stylish bar, offers a selection of fine rums from around the world and a well-balanced combination of classic bar favorites and contemporary finger foods. It makes for a good place to relax. The poolside bar, called TiKi, promises to be a chill-out zone and definitely looked the part. The wellness zone includes a fully equipped gymnasium, a spa, and a salon. other facilities include three banquet halls and five well designed boardrooms with Wi-Fi internet access, conference facilities, LCDs and the works. There’s also an open lounge offering everything from music to games should someone need to take a break from work.
