Analysis of Emotion Education in Ideological and Political Work in Universities

Abstract

Emotion education is an important method in the ideological and political work in universities. In this paper, the necessity and importance of emotion education are discussed and some methods are proposed to use emotion education in the ideological and political work in universities.

Emotion education is the people’s attitude of the objective things, which can be manifested obviously in the political and ideological education of the higher education. The so-called emotion education of the political and ideological education of the higher education is the undergraduates’ active emotional experience through the affective interaction by the college teachers, which could arouse the initiative of the undergraduates’ self-education. Higher emphasis can be put on the emotional education in the political and ideological education of the higher education. This could lead to the realization of the educational objective.

1. THE NECESSITY AND FUNCTION OF INDUCTING THE EMOTIONAL EDUCATION IN THE POLITICAL AND IDEOLOGICAL EDUCATION OF THE HIGHER EDUCATION

Most of the undergraduates are the only children. They are the focus of their family. For the living conditions become better and better, they don’t worry about their existences. Once they enter into the higher education and keep away from their parents, the absence of emotion appears and the affection need becomes fiercer. The unexpected results could be achieved if we make full use of the affection need in the process of education.

The functions of the emotional education in the political and ideological education of the higher education can be listed as.

a) The Function of Edification

The harmonious emotional atmosphere, which may be constructed through the emotional education, could make the undergraduate influenced by the positive factors. This could enhance the cultivation of ethic thought.

b) The Function of Resonance

The spiritual communication and sentimental mingle could be realized through the emotional education between teachers and students on the basis of the equality, which help to eliminate the estrangement of the teachers and students and the motive of receiving education will be produced.

c) The Function of Guidance

The undergraduate accept consciously and forwardly the right conception and think through the guidance of emotional education. Then the proper world view, sense of worth, value of life come into being.

d) The Function of Prompting

The active emotion which is just like catalyst could inspire the undergraduate up and propel the political and ideological education of the higher education. So, It is a challenge for the educators of the political and ideological education of the higher education to pay close attention to the emotional changes and intensify the emotional education. The educators of the political and ideological education of the higher education must renovate the idea, change the sense of role, comprehend the education conception of the people oriented, take the full development of the undergraduate as their tasks and make full use of the emotional education in the political and ideological education of the higher education.

2. THE MODE AND MEANS OF DEVELOPING THE EMOTIONAL EDUCATION IN THE POLITICAL AND IDEOLOGICAL EDUCATION OF THE HIGHER EDUCATION

The educators of the political and ideological education of the higher education attach importance to the function of the emotional education, pay close attention to the emotional changes, develop the emotional education and conduct the undergraduates' emotion to develop well. It is an inevitable trend of propelling the college tutors specialized for the construction and development of the college tutors. The college tutors should make full use of the emotional education. In order to unfold the emotional education in the political and ideological education of the higher education, attention should be put on the next steps.

a) The Outpour of Love

The educator Xiagai once said that if the education is short of the emotion and love is that the pond is no water. It cannot be called the pond, and it doesn’t exist in the education. Loving the students is the virtue and vocation of teachers. Obtaining the love of the teachers is the essential psychological need of every student. When one student acquires the love of the teachers, he will have the active emotion and accept the education forwardly. In other words, love is the affection tie between the educators of the political and ideological education of the higher education and the undergraduates. The soul communication and the emotional mingle could not be achieved if love does not exist. At the same time, the trust and support from the students could not be got. So, the educators of the political and ideological education of the higher education should be concerned about the undergraduates and make friends with them.

b) Be Open with the Undergraduate

The American author Emerson once said that the secret of the education’s success depends on respecting students. Respect is the concrete embodiment of love and the precondition for the political and ideological education of the higher education. The educators respect the students and eventually gain their trust and support in the political and ideological education of the higher education.

c) Friendship and Equality

The connection between the main body and the object in the political and ideological education is the crucial element affecting the result of the political and ideological education. Only when the educator of the political and ideological education treat the undergraduate equally can the trust respect and support be gained and the good education atmosphere could be created.

d) Listen to Your Heart

The educator of the political and ideological education should listen to the undergraduates’ thinking carefully and make the education full of pertinence and practicality. Therefore, the educator of the political and ideological education should make friends with the undergraduate and listen to their hearts.

e) Trust the Undergraduate More

The educator of the political and ideological education must learn to make friends with the students and curtail the psychological distance when they work. The educators eliminate the guard and reversal mind of the students through trust and cultivate the common language. Trust is the essential condition of the political and ideological education. The educator must care and trust the students. Once the educators find the advantages of the undergraduate, they should inspire them and make them experience the joyance of success, enhancing the self-confidence.

f) Pay Attention to Language Arts

Language is one of the familiar approach expressing emotions. The emotion expressed through language can deepen the sentiment between teachers and students and help them osculate the relation and remove the gulf. Therefore, the educators of the political and ideological education in higher education pay attention to the skill of conversation when talk with the students. In the language skills, the educators of the political and ideological education in higher education should give their attention to the next two points. Firstly, the educators of the political and ideological education in higher education should be good at language arts and improve the attraction and infectivity of language. This could make the undergraduate impressed by the language. Secondly, pay attention to the pertinence of the language. The educator of the political and ideological education in higher education’s ascertaining way and content of conversation according to the age interest and character of the undergraduate.

g) Pay Adequate Attention to the Students Leader

The team of the student leaders must be fostered among the undergraduate in order to penetrate the emotional education into the political and ideological education in higher education in many ways. An excellent student leader plays an important role among the students. To play a vanguard and exemplary role of the student leader is an essential condition of developing emotional education. Accordingly, the educator of the political and ideological education in higher education should pay much attention to the selection cultivation and employment of student leaders.

CONCLUSION

To sum up, the emotion education in the political and ideological education in higher education could fully mobilize the positivity and initiative of the contemporary undergraduate accepting education, advancing their personality and diathesis. Meanwhile, the emotion education is an indefensible effective approach in the political and ideological education in higher education. The educators should put a new premium on the emotional education in the political and ideological education in higher education.
