所罗门的智慧

David was the king of israel (以色列), he was very wise (智慧) and kind. He loved his people, in return his people thought (think~thought) he was a good king.

David's youngest son was named Solomon. Solomon was quite like his father, he liked reading and writing. When he was a child, he wrote (write~ wrote) a lot of beautiful poems (诗歌). Solomon was also very kind and wise. He loved his brothers and sisters, he often helped his friends, he could answer many questions and solve all kinds of problems. His father David liked his youngest son very much. Before David died(死), he let his （接上页）youngest son be the king of Israel. He said to Solomon, "You must learn from people, then you can know them; you must be wise, then you can be a good king." Solomon remembered his father's words. When he became the king of Israel, he first built (build~built) a very big palace (宫殿) to ask wisdom from God.

Solomon came to the palace, he presented(奉献) many animals to God. God asked him, "What do you want from me?" Solomon said, "God, you gave my father virtue (德行),kindness (善良) and honesty (诚实), so, the country(国家) became rich. Now, I'm king of the country, I want the country to be richer than before. I don't ask for money, I don't ask anything for myself, I ask for wisdom for my country, would you like to give it to me?" God was very pleased and said, "Great! You don't ask anything for yourself, only ask for wisdom for your country. I'll give it to you. From now on, you are the wisest man of all."

Solomon got wisdom from God, he became the greatest king. His people loved him, his country was rich. He himself wrote 1, 005 poems and 3,000 beautiful sentences. He built the greatest "Palace of Solomon" in thirteen years. Solomon learned from many people. When Solomon was an aged man, he met (meet~met) a little child who told Solomon that he could take fire with his hand. How could he do it? The child put a piece of coal (煤炭) on his hand and took the fire home. Solomon learned something from this.

大卫是以色列的国王，他是一个非常聪明、和蔼的国王。他热爱他的人民，他的人民也认为他是一个好国王。

大卫有一个儿子，名叫所罗门。所罗门非常像他的父亲，他喜欢读书、写诗。还是孩子的时候，他就写了很多漂亮的诗句。所罗门非常和蔼、聪明。他爱他的兄弟姐妹，经常帮助他的朋友，能问答很多问题。父亲大卫很喜欢这个最小的孩子。大卫死之前，他把这个最小的孩子立为以色列王，他对所罗门说：“你必须向人民学习，你才能了解他们；你必具聪明才智，你才能成为一位好国王。”所罗门记住了父亲的话，成为以色列王以后，他先建造了一座非常大的宫殿以求上帝赐给他智慧。

所罗门来到这座宫殿并以各种各样的动物祭献上帝。上帝问他：“你要我给你什么?”所罗门说：“上帝，你把美德、善良和诚实给了我的父亲，我们的国家才变得繁荣富有。现在，我成了国王，我要我的国家比以前更富有。我不向你乞求个人的钱财，也不向你乞求我个人的其他任何东西，为了我的国家，我只乞求你赐予我智慧，你能给我吗?”上帝听了以后很高兴，说：“好!你不为你自己向我要求任何东西，只为你的国家向我寻求智慧。我将赐予你智慧。从今以后，你就是全世界最聪明的人。”

所罗门从上帝那里得到了智慧，成为一个最伟大的国王。他的人民热爱他，他的国家繁荣富强。他写了一千零五首诗和三千句格言。他用十三年的时间建造了世界上最大的“所罗门宫殿”。所罗门向众多的人民学习。所罗门老了的时候，曾经遇见过一个小孩，这个小孩告诉所罗门他能用手取火。他怎么用手取火呢?原来孩子在手上放了一块煤就把火给带回家了。所罗门从小孩那儿学到了这个办法。
