On the Innovative Management Mode of Ideological and Political Education of Coll

Abstract. The management mode of college ideological and political education, aiming to realize the training objective of higher education, is required to innovate and develop incessantly, in order to meet the requirements of our nation’s economic and social development. This paper intends to discuss the necessities, characteristics and functions of the innovative mode of college ideological and political education.

Resourceful youths lead to a powerful country, and the future of our country depends on the youths, who are also the hope of our nation. College students are a special youth group. Due to the fact that the college students are generally at a young age, and their social experience is not rich and abundant, their ideas and thoughts are not mature enough, and their social knowledge and understanding is not comprehensive. What’s more, all of their outlook on life, sense of worth and outlook on world are at an important formation stage. In accordance with the actual characteristics of the college students, college students are required to receive deep and thorough ideological and political education at the higher education stage, in order to adapt to China’s economical and social developments. The ideological and political education of college students need to reform and innovate incessantly in order to adapt to the development of the times and improve and perfect the knowledge requirements of the education objects. The writer states and explains the innovative management mode of college ideological and political education mainly from three aspects, i.e. family, school, as well as society.

1. Based on family education

Home is the cradle for each and every college student to be nurtured since his/her birth. In such an environment, parents should guide their children by their own words and deeds. Ideological and political education based on family education has the characteristics as follows.

1.1 Family education is featured as being Coherent

Family education may not have a specific management mode, but such education mode always exists subconsciously since the moment when the child was born. Parents are the first teachers of their children, and also the best teachers, which emphasizes the coherence and importance of family education. Family education begins at the moment when the child was born, and it will not end with the child’s attending school or joining in work. In the contrary, it is a coherent mode of life-long education. Parents’ words and deeds always influence the formation of the children’s outlook on life, sense of worth and outlook on world and the children’s self development. Furthermore, every child improves himself/herself by setting their parents as examples, which is a specific and concrete expression of the coherence of family education. In order to help their children form good habits, parents need to regulate their own words and deeds from the root, guiding their children to a rosy and bright road of life.

1.2 Family education is featured as being binding and constraint

The bindings and constraints the writer states here refer to the “hierarchical” differences between the parents and the children which come into being in the process of family education, due to the traditional difference in the position in the family hierarchy and in age. In the traditional sense, most families value and respect highly the decisions of the parents and the children in those families have to obey any decisions made by their parents unconditionally. The writer has covered a series of factual family education cases, from which it has been discovered that families that are able to overcome the bindings and constraints of education generally are those families that have done very well in family education. The writer holds the opinion that parents should not impose their own wishes and willingness on their children obstinately, without taking the children’s interests and hobbies into consideration. It is true that parents look at most of the things with a longer-term vision than the college students at the beginning stage, owing to the fact that the parents have more and richer life experience and deeper social experience. However, the times is developing, and the society has been making constant progresses, so parents need to study and weigh the situation and consider whether the ideas and thoughts they have imposed on their children meet the demands of this era’s development. Therefore, the writer believes that successful family education needs to step beyond the limit of “constraint education”, and treat family education in a way of advancing with the times. In addition, parents need to learn to respect the inner thoughts of their children and learn to kook at and consider problems from their children’s angles, thus, family education can be implemented better, ensuring that the children can grow up more healthily, and more excellent talents can be cultivated.

1.3 Parents are generally set as examples in family education.

Parents are the best teachers for the children. College students, in the key formation stage of all kinds of views and outlooks on different things, may set their parents as mental examples in their subconscious, and they have most contact chances with their parents, so every word their parents said and every deed their parents did will have a direct effect on them, based on which, each and every parent need to strictly discipline with himself/herself, to maintain a glorious image of the spiritual example in their children’s minds, to guard strongly and forcibly for their children’s healthy growth. Therefore, parents need to take advantage of being the mental examples in the children’s minds to guide their children to grow up healthily and positively, making their children being brought up to be adults who are responsible for their families and useful for the society.
